That second photo looks like you took the top off a convertable pt cruiser. There is a thread already for a vert 8. I think it is called "would you buy this?" or something like that.

Why make the car heavier and slower than it already is?

 

I agree a vert 8 is FAIL but, why would it be heavier and slower? The Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera lost weight from it's hard top counterpart and got faster. Also, the Aston Martin DB9 convertible did the same. I know, none of these cars are in the league of the 8 but not all verts are slower and heavier than the hardtop versions. 2cents.

 

Because Topless Rocks - Besides that it isn't about just the standing start quarter mile times. it is about a perfectly balanced car with appropriate power to weight ratios and lots of torque with exceptional handling.

This car - for the general car person (not the autocrosser) is more than adequate for most applications. the one thing missing is a rag top.
