Hi everyone!

I didnt really see a noob intro section so im taking a nab at this one,

At the moment im contemplating picking up a 2004 RX-8 but im trying to see what the pros and cons of the car are, thanks for help in advance!

 

pros: it's a phenomenal car

cons: fuel mileage is lower then one would expect out of a traditional 1.3 liter engine

 

how does it feel on the track? autox? these are the main things I would want to be doing with the car... as of right now I have a 2006 spec-v and im just looking to see if the rx-8 is a route I would want to go...i dont know to many rx-8 owners

 

go ask ullose, I believe he won Nationals at least 3 or 4 years straight in his RX-8. I guess it's a half-decent auto cross vehicle.


If all you're concerned about is track / auto x then you're definitely looking at a great car. This is hands down one of the best handling cars you'll ever find for the money you pay.
with that said, what class you will be competing in will factor in heavily in your success. Keep in mind, this is not a torque intensive car so you will be giving up quite a bit in the straights and hoping to make that up with driver skill in the turns.
