Compression tester needed.

Hi,

I live in the North East of England, i am in need of a compression test done on my 2004 RX8 but really dont want pay dealer prices, i would be very grateful if anyone with a compression tester and living anywhere close to the North East could give me a shout and help me out.

Thanks

Your best bet is to have a dealer do it. I'm not sure how much UK dealers charge, but if you go in and specifically say "I want you to give my 8 a compression test" they only charge $85 to $120 here in the US. Rotary testers are extremely rare outside of dealerships, and costly enough that the only people that purchase them are usually shops that can charge for the service anyway. A few individuals do have them, but not many.

I live in Scotland and just paid £50 + VAT (£60 total) for the test from a certified Mazda dealer in Glasgow. The results weren't good but at least I didn't pay over the odds
