Compliments

I've had good experience with the 8 as well.
While driving home, some neighbourhood female teens hanging out shouted "I love your car!". I just waved and smiled.
Then there was the time when stopped at a set of lights next to some Hells Angels looking bikers.
The lead biker said "Nice sportscar. Is that a V8? V12?".
My Reply: "Nah. It's a Rotary."
Confused biker "Them turbo hotrods huh?" telling his buddy.
I just smiled. Didn't want to correct him. I was passing through this hick-town and I am an asian in a Mazda surrounded by a convoy of Angels....
Lights turned green .... dang! I hate those Harley exhausts!

I haven't had any verbal comments yet but while I was in line at Starbucks this morning I looked out the window and saw three contruction guys standing admiring my ride. They went back to work before I got back outside but one of them gave me a big thumbs up as I was driving away.

When I went to get my drivers license, the guy sitting next to me was amused by the 8 the whole time. He told me he used to have an RX-7 3rd gen.. He loved the rotary engine, asked me if it still had it. After we finished, he told me to wash the car, if not, he'd fail me for mistreating a nice car.
Cool guy.. I actually failed my first driving test, when I had some ghey old lady.. Gave me the failed paperwork with a smile..

I've had a few compliments..The day i was buying the car, a lady drove by and asked what kind of car it was, and as she was driving off she said "That is one sexy ride!" So that definitally made me feel good about buying the car. But my favorite complimate i've gotten has to be..
"Is it a 4-cylinder or a V6?"
And i just smile

despite the negative connotation the rotary engine gets by the haters, all the previous owners of rx7's and other rotary vehicles seem to have extremely positive experiences and views back when they owned their respective vehicle.
I never been in a vehicle that gets as many thumbs up and respect from all ages/sexes.
After spending time driving a rotary powered vehicle, I really don't think there is anything on the market yet that I even would care to replace it with.

Guy on a Hog next to me leans over and says "Hey, what color is that?" "They call it Black Cherry Mica," I tell him. "Cool..." he says, "that's the color I wanna paint my tank."

When I hang out with my dad's friends they are always praising my car. Their kid, I think hes 10, said that he wants either a car like mine or a viper. I figured it was useless to talk to him about insurance rates at his age

When I was taking food deliveries for a family friend's restaurant. I pulled up and the guy said it was the nicest delivery car he has ever seen. Good thing it was a neighbor or I would not have gotten a tip :-(.
