The last time i drove my car was last friday and now it is exactly one week from the last time i drove it and the battery is completely dead...

no remote lock/unlock
no courtesy lights
no lights or radio when the key is turned to I or II
definitely no starting the car


is this supposed to be normal? the battery is relatively new, i got it only a couple months ago

that being said, the only thing that i "upgraded" were the BHR coils and new plugs for it

 

Might be the alternator going bad...

 

Open the passthrough to the trunk and see if the light is on.
Many instances of the trunk latch not closing properly and leaving that light on.
It will drain the battery and a week may be long enough for it to do it.
But.................it could also be the alternator not recharging the battery because it's bad or your connections are not clean.

 

well if the alternator is going bad does that just mean that the battery was already at a low level and a week of sitting there is finishing the battery off?


and i'll see if the trunk light is always on once i get a new battery -_-

 

so i just went and checked the battery with a multimeter and it said 0.6v

 

if i were u, i see if I can find someone to jump the car first and drive it to some shop to see if it's the alternator going bad.

 

It happened to me once. I never knew that the trunk was open accidentally and it drained the battery. I bought the battery a year ago and it couldn't be the battery because of that. So, i took the battery to Autozone were i bought the battery from, and they re-charged it for free (2 year warranty). After that, i installed the battery and drove it for a week...all is good, i'm glad its not the alternator.

 

like everyone says, recharge battery, inspect trunk light, and then alternator...

 

Load test your alternator if that turns out okay . Do a parasitic draw test, although lights might not be on there could still be a short or drain somewhere.

You will want to have a drain under 50mA

 

Get it jumped and check that the alternator is charging. It's as easy as hooking up a voltmeter to the battery while it's running and make sure it's charging. Should be probably 13.5-14.5 volts while running. Basically needs to be more than static battery voltage.
