Common Courtesy?
I dunno if this is just me, but when I have a car, there usually is sort of a bond between other people who choose that same vehicle. With the RX-8, I have seen about 12 RX-8's in the past 3 months I have owned my car. Not a single driver even nodded my way or anything. Do you guys get this with other 8 owners or maybe it's just my city (Houston TX)

perhaps the other drivers are changing their radio station or something...
I live in NC and I used to ride a motorcycle. When I lived in Illinois it was customary to wave to other riders no matter what they were riding... Apparently that is not the hard fast rule down here... Only about half the people wave.
Same thing with the Jeep CJs... i remember a time when people would wave to other Jeep owners... Not anymore.
I think people have become to paranoid about things like this.

They're most likely new to RX's or rotaries and don't realize that, much like with Harleys and Jeeps, it's normal to acknowledge another driver. I almost always got a wave from other RX drivers.

I have to say I have not run into that.
Just today I was getting gas, and another Silver 8 pulled in and honked. I wasn't even looking and wouldn't have noticed if it wasn't for the honk. We exchanged a wave.
In CO - I had a long conversation with a fellow RX8Club owner at a red light, and that was without my 8.
I find the comraderie (sp?) to be equal to the comraderie that existed when the New Beetle came out (my wife had a '98 that I wound up driving a lot).

I see about 1 or 2 other 8's each week, and no one ever seems to acknowledge me. In fact, I pulled up to an identical, titanium gray 8 on the freeway, and the guy didn't even look over. I suppose I could've honked....

Everybody in my neighborhood waves all the time, but out there on the freeway folks are just too intense to do that.
When I lived up near New York people waved all the time---with their middle finger. Being ignored is preferable.

I was driving home the other day and some guy in an RX-7 (Gen 2) started riding my a$$. I was doing well over the limit but apparently this guy had envy issues and decided that he needed to pass me. As he passes me, and all the black smoke is billowing out of his tail pipe, I just about laughed my butt off.
It was even better when I saw him later on the side of the road with a car that wasn't working!!! LOL I waved to him then... =)
But... this goes back to the other discussions on this board about people that always seem to want to race against the 8.
When I am driving in the neighborhood or in a city driving situation almost everyone around here waves... I just have not seen it among other 8 drivers (yet). I have not seen a lot of 8s around here as it is.

I live in PG County, Maryland and when ever I see a 8 or anyone else driving a 8 sees me we always exchange waves or honks! I had a guy in an 8 as soon as I honked come up right behind me. So we just drove down the street in a row. Its sweet because everyone looks twice as hard now with two RX8's.
