Every youtube video i watch of a civic si and a rx8 racing the rx8 loses...Idk i always thought the 8 was much faster

I don't think so. My neighbor has driven my 8 and swears it was faster than his si pre supercharger.

 

No im just saying i been watching alot of youtube videos of drag races betwwen 8's and Si's and like everytime the civic wins. I just always seen the rx8 as a nicer, faster car or at least faster then a little honda civic

 

those Youtube idiots are probably shifting at 5000rpms,

not 9000rpms.....

 

civic si are 15's sec car

rx8's are 14.5's sec cars

the 8 is not a drag car but it also isn't slow. second i would strongly advise that you think about what you want to start a thread about, this thread will probably be closed soon.

dude most vids i have seen, 8's are beating rsx's or si's , the ones were the 8 loses; they are either stock or lightly modded and the hondas have I,H,E or etc... there are some vids where moderate modded 8's manage to hang a bit with s2k's or 350's, its all in the driver!!

if you bought the 8 for drag racing, then you bought the wrong car.

Does it really matter? Do you like driving a 4 door sedan or a sports car...you choose. The 8 has values a civic will never match. However if you want bolt ons and straight line numbers stay with the honda.

The previous Si had a 0-60 of around 7.3... Current model is at 6.6... Those are both slower than the 8. The Si has slower quarter mile times too, so its no like it starts out slower to 60mph but then picks up

Either the rx8 drivers you are seeing on youtube are shifting too soon (or doing something else wrong)... Or the Si that you are seeing have mods upping their power. Cause a stock 8 is faster than a stock Si


BTW... I have nothing against weed (at all), but having a username, avatar, and signature dedicated to it on a car forum is a little bit over the top. This isn't really the place to put how much you love to smoke in the middle of everyones discussions about cars and such haha
