Chirping noise

Hi guys, lately i've been getting chirping noise near the engine when it's idling. it's worst if you hear it on the side of front passenger tire. it used to happen when the engine is cold (warming up), but now it gets rather persistant. it's really annoying, everytime i brought my car to the dealer, it goes away. my best guess it's caused by leaking exhaust, however i didn't get any performance issue with it. any other gues??

I'm a victim of the chirping noise. I had my clutch switch (I believe thats what it was called) replaced under warranty, but it still came back. Mine only "chirps" when the clutch is disengaged.

I have/had this too, some people mentioned the throw-out bearing in the clutch, but i had it replaced and... it was still there. But now that I think about it, the chirping has either gone away or i just dont notice it anymore.

Now I got the 'Can of Marbles in a Jar' when my clutch isn't depressed.

Are you guys certain that it's not a slipping belt kinda chirp? It could explain why it's more likely to happen when it's cold and not when the belt has warmed up and more tactile.

I have the same issue when my clutch is disengaged. Its not too bad though. Only really noticeable in my garage and when I'm in a drive through (sound reverberations) I asked the dealer about it and they said "thats normal".

Put alittle grease around the rod coming out from the slave cyclinder to the clutch fork. that should fix it. Verry comon with the Miata's. Now I guess common with Mazda's.. OH well

my clutch chirped and I got it replaced under warranty, then the chirping continued and I got my throw out bearing replaced under warranty. Then about 5K miles later, i heard the chirping, but this time, it didnt stop when i pushed the clutch pedal in. I took it to my dealership and they said it was something about the exhaust making that noise as it leaves the engine and that it is normal wear. Now, were they stroking me, I dont know, but the noise is annoying. My RX8 has 48K miles on it. Hopefully that helped.

Mine made clicks, took it in , and there was broken mounting clips, and then they put felt padding under all rub points.

All under warranty.

mine is always chirping whether the clutch pedal is in or not. since my dealer is 1 one drive away, i had a chance to ask the technician at local car service when my friend brought his car in to fix the transmission. the guy listened to the chirping sound and he told me that it was exhaust problem.

Now this is interesting.....I have an 04 RX and I hear this chirping at high speeds, usually on a flat highway in the desert.......I'll have to ask the dealer about the exhaust as well......

I've heard a chirping too only when my husband was driving. Couldnt figure it out, I dont know about you guys but these noises simply chew a hole in my brain... I hung my head out the window to listen and discovered it was the tires when he shifted...

No more drivey for him!
