Hopefully, this will end some of the "Is this cheap ebay good enough for my RX8?" We can then stop replying with "No, you spent how much on the car again? Stop being cheap and get something made by a reputable manufacturer" lol

 

That's the reason I read a **** ton of reviews on products before tossing money down. I hate giving money to people who take the easy way out of building products for cars.

Yeah that is a good example but only one example. Just because something cost less doesn't make it cheap. I have bought a couple of things that were low cost but were great products. The catch can I bought was $20.00 and I have seen the $100.00 Greddy can up close and I just don't get it. Don't get me started on the $150.00 grounding kits.

Buying a radiator or some other major piece of equipment without research is just retarded. Take oil coolers for instance, some of the brand name kits out there do not use brand name coolers yet they cost $400.00-$500.00. You can piece together a kit using the best coolers money can buy for less than that.

 

suprised they didnt get Koyo

I had 2 Koyo experience and both fit 100%.

performance wise ----- I seriously dont find any problem with it. I still have my old Koyo in my Garage, one day I might install it back just for the hell of it (yes I like working on my car, even for stupid reasons ...)

I have a question tho, if I leave my Old Koyo Radiator in my garage, wide open. Will it "break" one day? I know Aluminum does not rust, Rust is only for metals like steel. but Aluminum is very prone to corrosion. and will form some sort of hard stuff and it will stop corrosion. Do you guys think if one day I decided I will re-use this old Rad, I can just get a bottle of those "Radiator cleaners", stick it into the Radiator for couple of days. Then pour it and it will be good as new ?

 

If you rinse it out with distilled water and let it dry..there should be virtually no corrosion...

Alum is quite stable..it forms an oxide layer and basically stops corroding after that....

 

if that guy said "um" one more time in his videos i was going to kick a kitten. I really loved how in his first video he said he had never even heard of the first manufacturer, but bought the rad anyway.

I guess i should not be surprised at someone who hast he money to buy a car, has the money to buy a video camera, has the brains to figure out how to post videos about his car on youtube.. but is still so ****-all stupid as to buy the cheapest no name radiator he can find without doing any research on it, then thinks it's news worthy enough to post about. Meh, at least he seems to have learned from his mistake.

can you remove the oxide layer by using those Radiator cleaners ?

if not and it stays, will it lower the cooling effectiveness of the Radiator ?
