I hate this response to posts but "CTFA".....
Short answer: no one knows at this point.
Some will even say flooding isn't an issue so like I said above, check the archives.

I don't think flooding is an issue! My firend owns a 2004 Nissan Altima (4-cyl) and he flodded it the other day. It was cold out and he shut it of inmediatelly after moving out of the driveway. He had it towed to the dealership and they told him he has to warm it up before shutting it down...

The rare flooding issue is NOT a problem, it's an operating issue that can be entirely avoided by following 1 simple step - if the car is cold when you start it, let the car warm up for a few minutes before you turn it off. End of problem.
That said - apparently the M flash (latest version) for the PCM (powertrain control module, aka ECU) contains code to detect cold shutdowns and minimize the likelyhood of flooding. You might say the "problem" is already fixed.
I would expect little or no changes in the RX-8 for 2005. Maybe a new colour option.
Regards,
Gordon

As others said, especially after latest ECU flashes as reported by other members - flooding is not really a problem so it seems.
Few more colors for the car would be nice. I think white would look hot on this car, that's what I am hoping they will do before I get to buy...

I have owned my RX-8 for almost 2 months and I haven't had a single problem with flooding. I think some owners need to read their manuals from cover to cover once in a while.

Stuck in a love triangle
An optional factory turbocharger for 2005 models would be nice. Bythe way Ive already seen some Mazdaspeed Rx8s for sale in someof the showrooms at dealerships. Itsbasically just a bodykit.
I would have liked to have power rear windows ala minivan style b/c it has become so annoying togo and close the windows onthe suicide doors afteryou open them that I donteven bother telling passengers thatthey can open them anymore. Speaking ofopening them I also wish the rear windows could open up just a little more to make the rearpassengers more comfy butthats probably b/c I dont have a moonroof in my Rx8.

I've never read that book that comes with my cars.

The 2005 model should come with a standard V6, 'cuz rotaries Suxx0rs!!!1!
j/k :p
EDIT: But seriously, I would like the under-powered manual to be for sale in North America. That way, if someone buys a shift **** for it, I can buy their RX-8 5spd **** from them for cheap for my RX-7!! (which badly needs a new shift ****)

Read the car manual? Come on guys. Every one know that the manuals and instructions are just the manufactuers OPINION of how things should work!
I always learn a lot after I screw around trying to get something to do what I wantit/thinkitshould do and then end up reading the stuff that came with it.
(if you're going to read that crap, put it in the cover of a Playboy so people don't know what you're doing)

Honestlyguys I think the most they might do is add the white Japanese color tothe current US stock. Dont count on it though. I doubtanything is changing for 2005 models. There are still plentyof 2004 models left at allthe dealerships.
