CAT issues, recall, and a refund?!?

Okay - this is just a question based on something I read and the way laws are structured about cars/recalls/etc

If I take my car in and get it reflashed (because im having rough idle issues) to the latest flash, and also see about the recall they have going on.... if they were to find "something" whatever it is, what would be the procedure for them replacing the CAT if i didnt WANT them to? I.E. i have a custom Rotary Performance SuperCAT.

I replaced the stock cat at my own cost, and I remember reading something online about the fact that if you replaced a part that would normally be fixed under recall conditions you are entitled to some sort of compensation? I.e. since Mazda doenst have to pay for a new stock cat thats saves them a good chunk of money right there?

Just wondering and NO im not expecting to go up and have my car tested and be handed some kinda check or something,

thanks!
Jeff
