I have found an 06 RX-8 and looked under the hood and it looked like it may have been rewired or something. The plugs that are attached to the passenger side engine wall looked a little off. It looks like the bolts were stripped out and replaced with a sheet of metal and fixed back. I was wondering why they would have done this and if its a big enough problem to not buy it.

That IS a bit strange. I can tell you that the one on the left (from the picture's view) is just a grounding point. I don't think either is an OEM item, since I don't even think there is a grounding point there from the factory. Someone else might have a better idea of what it is though.

 

Yeah I didn't know if I should be worried or not. Still haven't figured anything out about it.

 

You're asking because you're considering buying this car? Would I buy this car? Do I have to answer? Seeing a **** job of wiring like that means there's a good possibility it was done elsewhere in the car. Have you ever had to track down an electrical problem? It's joyous, hilarious fun that just keeps on giving.

 

I wouldn't buy it if i were you. Problems might occur down the road and you'll regret buying it. Find another one that hasn't been tampered.
