Depends on who you ask.

If you're looking for a really fast, straight line car, you might want to look somewhere else (like an FD ).

Exerpt from Car & Driver

With the help of an 8000-rpm clutch drop and the engine buzzing like a flock of angry hornets, the RX-8 scooted to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds and through the quarter-mile in 14.5 seconds at 96 mph. But that performance falls off considerably without a tire-frying launch. In our street-start test from 5 to 60 mph, the RX-8 needed 7.5 seconds—1.6 seconds longer than the hard-launch time,

yeah you really need to go for a test drive; nothing we can tell you can compare to your own experience driving one

This is where the magic is. Handling, steering, braking and road feel in a curvaceous bod. You have to drive it to understand. The "unique factor", not always seeing yourself coming and going, is icing on the cake. :D

Why the obsession with 0-60 times?? The suspension is pretty compliant for everyday use, and it's limits are higher than you will ever explore on regular roads. The 8 is a great car and IMO would be a significant upgrade to your Accord 0-60 or not.
