Buy new / used now or wait after recall shakeup?

I have been following this board for the past two months, and planned to buy a used 2004 rx8 in a month or so. In light of the engine recall, should I go ahead with my plans or save up for 6-8 months or so for a new 2006 so that I can control what happens to the engine (hard driving, dino oil, long drives, etc...)

btw, I'm an ex s2k owner (sold due to baby) who is quite use to living in 6-9k rpm

Its always better to buy a new car then a used car. But it is up to you, and what you can afford. If you buy used, I would recommend taking the car to a dealer to look at it to see if the recall has been performed or not. as long as the recall has been performed, engine replacement or flash, then I would not worry about it at all.

Well considering as of right now its just a "Report" not a "Fact" I'd wait on buying a 04' Rx-8. Though if you have the oportunity I'd personaly just buy a 06' since first year runs as everyone knows always have the most problems. That and since the 07's are coming soon I'm sure you could weasel your way into a good deal.
