Bulls@*t Brake Issue

I know threads have already been started regarding this issue, but I got some new news.

I had my brakes machined last year after the "squeaking noise" started at 5000KM. That didn't resolve the issue. I then got new brakes shortly afterward. I put the car away for the winter and took it out in march. The squeaking almost started immediately. I called my dealer and he said something has been opened up and he will give me more information when he hears for Mazda technical department.

A couple weeks pass and no word from the dealer. I called him up and he said nothing has been done yet.

I then called Mazda Canada, and open up a ticket regarding this issue. They said that I would receive a call once they find out more information. It's now August and I called to find out why they didn't give me a call yet.

The Mazda rep whom was very nice told me that she would look into it and call me back. She called me back no longer then 2 hours and told me that it may take up to a year because the first fix didn't work. Usually Mazda can take up to a year to investigate these issues. Apparently every time there’s a problem we all need to wait up to 1 year to get a solution.

So I’m expected to wait another year for my brakes to be changed, hoping that it’s going to work . I think this is TOTAL bullsh*t.

I really want to start a class action suit against Mazda. Does anyone else ?

Have you called Mazda with any of these problems? What did they tell you???

Hey Pete,
I know how to fix your problem.....Take her out on the highway and STOMP on the brakes until the squeaking goes away. Sure, you may have to be doing 100MPH but they'll loosen up, and quiet down too to your delight. Brakes are meant to be used, not pampered.

It's a problem with the braking system on the car.

Please clarify when you say you've heard it all. Isn't there something wrong when you pruchase a brand new car and the brakes don't function properly.

I don't like pulling up to a light sounding like a 1987 pinto.

If you got something stupid to say then keep it to yourself

I think squeeky brakes have existed since cars have existed. I've owned old cars and owned new cars, expensive ones and cheap ones... you never know when you will encounter a squeeker ! Class actions are for MAJOR problems that endanger your life or the life of others IMO. Your car brakes fine, it just makes more noise then your ego can digest. No wonder insurance costs are si high in NA, there are lawsuits for everything !

Is that stupid enough for you?

I've driven cars ranging from bmw's to 911's. My brother is a Ferrari mechanic. I know that brakes aren't supposed to give out a high pitch squeak with only 5000km on them. If you tell me other wise then you definitely don't know much about cars, and your just embarrassing yourself.. Something as small as breaks squeaking may signify future problems. In some cases.... some thing "MAJOR".

How did this thread become about my ego. With regards to Insurance rates sky rocketing. .....it isn't because of lawsuits genius. Did you ever consider fraud, accidents, tickets.... etc

Stay out of this thread unless you have something to say with regards to my original topic.

And Yes .... Your comment is stupid enough. You really do have the IQ of a snail.

A class action lawsuit for squeaky brakes easily falls into this catagory.

Cmon' people, we're driving a high performance sports car - their brakes always squeal .......... you have not read that one yet .

I tried gooping the backs of my pads with antisqueal stuff with no luck. Then I tried greasing the pad backs - still no luck.

For now, I'm just going along with the high performance sports car bit :D. I have not tried bedding the pads as suggested here:

Class actions are for increasing the wealth of lawyers. They'd get $20 million and we'd get a coupon for $0.50 off our next oil change.

Hmm,
Nothing wrong with my brakes. (I have 15K miles).
Also, why do you assume the brakes wear out in 20K miles? (Other than the fact that the car has awesome stopping power, which is a tradeoff vs pad life).

Also, sounds like you only want people to respond if they agree with your opinion.

See Pete, i don't care much for your opinion on the size of my brain.
r when did this became about your ego... didn't you say in your post and i quote:

"I don't like pulling up to a light sounding like a 1987 pinto. "

That sounds like an ego problem to me. My RX8 has 31000 km on it ( i'm sure you can figure it out in miles) and the brakes are still awesome, some squeeking from time to time but efficient as hell. Now i encourage you to file a class action and i hope you win it too. but i wonder how many 8 owners are willing to sue for a squeek...

Oh, i wonder just where did you study brake design? i'm sure Mazda would love to hire you as an expert designer for the 06 car, (too late for the 05) .

Guys, stop the name calling. Discuss politely or not at all. And for the record, my brakes have been squeeking now for 10k miles (I'm at 20), and I'm just dealing with it. It stops when I stomp them (for a few hundred miles), and since it isn't affecting the performance of the car, I don't really care.

dust , debris, dirt causes "squeaking" between the pads and the disc.

here's your citation

The intention of this thread was not to bash anyone. Read the original post. I was only frustrated with mazda and stating my own opinion.

the brakes are fine, how many S-Class Benz's and other cars twice, three times the money of an 8 I see with squeaky brakes?? well lots, good luck on sueing over such a small issue,I'd get another car if it's that big of a deal, IMO the 8 offers soooo many pro's that far outweight the squeaky brakes.

1. When I used the Pinto expression it was to express that the RX8 should not be having these problems becasue it's considered as mazda's front line car and not a peice of ****.

2. Regarding the 31000km. I've been writting in KM this entire thread.... what have you been reading ?

3. I wrote that I studied brake design ???

I'm not even going to get into pros and cons .... I know I love the car. Who said anything about bringing it back. . I just brought up a braking issue.

Jeeezzz....

This is a message board. Why the hell is everyone crying about my original post ?
