On my first 8 I did not see an improvement in gas mileage. I traded at 14,000 miles. I currently get about 21-22 on the highway with my new one with about 2,000 miles on it. That is 3 mpg better from the get go.

I have been getting 250-270 on a tank depending on how much highway I do9Best highway mileage was 24.7). It could be that the summer blends are coming to the pumps now

My gas mileage has actually gone down a bit....I think it was because I was more aware of when to shift to save on gas. Now, I just don't care.

It's not that the mileage has plummeted or anything, I was getting ~20 on the highway, now I get ~18.

The odd thing is get about the same around town...

Maybe your tire pressures got corrected to the proper psi?

There could be a lot of other factors as well... at least you are heading in the right direction with your mpg...

I really believe winterized fuel and having to warm up the car in cold weather takes a toll on mileage. Maybe the gas stations in your area cut back on winter additives for the warmer weather.

I bought mine in December and my mileage has been abysmal. I'm curious to see if the mileage will improve with warmer temps. I was ecstatic yesterday at 205 miles when the light went on...and that was 75% highway.

lay off the crack and stop abusing your car, or i'll be forced to report you to the proper authorities (namely extremely large men with bats and tazers).

seriously though, considering this a sports car through and through, it actually does fairly well mileage wise. and if fuel economy is that big of an issue to you, then i suggest you trade it in for a civic hx. those get upper 30s on the highway.

I've broke 300 miles on a single tank once. It was pretty scary though since the last few miles I wasn't even sure if I was gonna make it. But when filling up, it topped off at 14.7 gallons

:o I was kind of sweating it on the way across Iowa today with the fuel light on and not too sure if I knew where to fill. Turned out fine with 21.3 MPG after a bunch of twisties in the NW and cruising at 78 in those rediculious 65 zones.

hmm that's odd cause i went about 160 miles on about 8 gallon last night, my first road trip in my new yellow. i figured about 20 mpg. I'm sure it'd done better but i couldn't resist hitting it a few times to pass on the 2 lane highway stuck behind twits going 50 ( limit is 65 flow of traffic usualy is about 80 ). It's so easy to pass get over look down and be zipping along at 100.

funny i have a civic hx as my other car. ( i have a 54 mile one way commute to work ) and it get 48 mpg if i drive it like i stole it, usually i never get it below 85 on the highway. it's a 2001 i've racked up 145000 miles and it still gets high 40's in the city if i jackrabbit it the lowest i have ever gotten is about 38 mpg. If i baby it and keep the rpm's below 3k where the leanburn switches off it'll do about 52mpg on the highway. I've driven 530miles on 11gallons and just had the gas light come on which usually means ive got about a gallon or so left.

but the 8 is so much more fun
