better or = to rx8?

so i did some searching but didnt see anything on the forum like this. So because i always do im thinking about my next car. not anytime soon. at least 2-3 years from home (hoping my engine lasts that is) but basically i was wondering if you guys know of another car that is rwd that has at least close the the handling capabilities of the 8. i keep thinking that sure it'd be nice to have more power, but at the sacrifice of the handling? i dont like that idea, i have always loved the thrill of driving fast through back twisty roads, and after how great the 8 is at it, it worries me that the next car wont match up to what im used to and love. any ideas?

S2000 *cough*

Do you like roadsters in general? Or are you looking for something larger?

I didn't buy my RX-8 just for the handling. If your going on just handling alone that's rwd. I'm not sure and please don't get the mafia on me

Last-gen Z06 Corvette.. You'll have to grow a mullet but it's an affordable super-car at 25-35k.

E46 M3.
Period.

Those cars have the looks (looks drop dead gorgeous with 19's and white), the power, awesome 4.7 0-60, and have better handling or the same as an rx-8. My only gripe about that car is that it's a harsh ride, the tail is to stiff, which makes the car a bit too tale happy, and parts for it are damn expensive, or atleast they used to be.

If they had an m3 for nearly the same price I bought my Rx-8 for, I would've bought the car right away.

'02-'03 996 C2, amazing machine for a steal these days

Be prepared to have maint. sticker shock on any of our suggestions even if the price for entry is tolerable though!

The RX-8 has a lot to offer for those of us silly enough to prefer (and be willing to put up with) sports cars considering it's price point. There are faster cars, more capable cars but most of them tend to ignore the exalted Mr. Chapman's basic principles of car design

Well an s2000 is an excellent car. I have driven several, and they are absolutely thrilling, with more impressive straight line performance than the 8, and their handling is extremely nimble with amazing grip and response, although i must say that when driven very hard they are twitchy and not as confidence inspiring as an 8.

If your looking for a brand new car I would say try out an s2000, Ive only driven one before and not for very long but I was impressed. If your going used do what the drunk IT guy says, get a last gen z06, plenty of power good handling

You drove an AP1 (of which I was lucky enough to own and dumb enough to trade in after 2 years). If you get an AP2 the traction control takes away pretty much all of that tail happiness.

I <3'd my S, I'm a pretend grown up now and need at least a small human sized back seat :D

vettes interior is a let down with the plastics and its only a 2 seater,370z if you dont need the seating, youll be hard pressed to find a 4 seater with dignified rear seat access that handles like an 8. 4 door m3 maybe, Im looking to replace my stratus commuter with a new stang but am leaning towards a 4 door like a WRX, 4 door 09 cobalt ss, Pontiac G8, or my fav of the 4 doors Charger SRT8

If I ever let the 8 go itll be for a Cayman

If you want scary grip, get a Mini or a Lotus. If you want scary power, get an Dodge Challenger. If you want scary both, for the money, I don't think you can beat an EvoX.
