Best mods to throw on a Bone stock Base model 8?

Hey guys, saw a thread below mine, and I didnt want to thread jack, and thought his thread was a good idea. Right now I have a stock base 8. Only mod in it right now is a K&N v2 intake. I have a custom exhaust, but I took it off due to it being way too loud because its mufflerless Gonna throw some resonators in place of the mufflers and I should be good. Anyway, Im also getting my tax return, getting around 1.2grand back to me total. Giving some of it to parents etc etc, so I'll be having around 750$ to myself. Looking on opinions on the most bang for the buck. I was thinking strakes, hids, all the little things that give the car some look. Any ideas guys? Thanks

Shocks and springs. Looks better lowered and handles better. It's an appearance mod and a performance mod all rolled up into one. And you may have enough for an HID kit. Skip the strakes please

Exhaust for my stock 8

I am in debate over the Dual Greddy SP2 or the HKS Hi Flow dual cat backs. Greddy I found around 650 and the HKS is about 1000. Any comments or suggestions would be great.

I was going to say the Hymee stainless exhaust but hell that will work too.

Hymee sounds good Dont feel like throwing all the money into an exhaust just yet though. I have my exhaust. Just need to find some custom 3" mufflers or resonators to throw onto it ;(

Guess I may have to get the SS. I had a few friends who told me to stay away from it. They said all it does was make the gears closer, more chance to miss gears etc..maybe they just suck at driving. Guess it wont hurt to install it, and try it out eh?

You only miss gears if you ***** foot it or just dont know how to drive. I have missed third before but that was with the stock set up. Not one miss since the AFE SS. Some are giving it up now that cracks have been proven in the cuppling. Mine has cracked too. Got a spanking new one for free within a few days..

Hows 4th to 5th feel now? I know in stock it feels like your throwing the gear for a mile before you hit 5th, plus when I throw it in, I throw it in a diaganal (sp) motion. Hows it feel with the SS?

short shifter is a MUST for M/T.

After that, depends on what you want to improve on the vehicle.
Looks? Springs / struts would be good. (yes, there are performance benefits as well but mainly if you do both)

Handling? - Sway bars

Sound? Intake / Exhaust

Pulleys = waste

Live in hot weather? Will you track the car? Mazmart water pump.

Google Hymee exhaust. He has video/sound clips on his website. The exhaust rocks. I got pulleys and theye seemed good at first but once you get used to them you cant tell anymore. Everything is like that though. 5th-6th with the SS is null. I always go from 5th to neutral then slide to 6th. I cant ever get it to go right from 5th to 6th. If you only had money for one thing I would get the SS.

What about 4th to 5th? That one feels kinda weird to me, I have no problem with 5th to 6th.

A better stereo comes to mind since nobody else has said it yet. Keep the stock HU and get a good LOC + amp.
