best gas for the 8.

Can anyone comment on the accuracy of this statement? How much cooler does the combustion chamber of a rotary run with 91 vs. 87 octane?

I have actually had bad luck with the shell gas around bloomington IL they must put something in it because the v-power i got at one is better than the other. I bought it the other day and my car was running like **** and was freaking out lol. But I just ran the car really close to dry filled it up with bp premium and was on my way my car is running great now i have plenty of power and get evan better gas milage so idk i wont use that shell anymore but i still get it at other ones. and at that same shell my dad filled up and 2 hours later his car broke down and was towed in and they told him he had a bad batch of gas and it messed up his car extremely badly but anyways its just that one shell station and i always wonder why there gas was always 3 cents cheaper than the other shells?????
anybody else have this problem?

I typically try to fill up at Cheveron but I do fill up a lot on base (air force).
I filled up at 7 Eleven once and I got the highest mpg rating on that tank of gas compared to my other fill ups on my recent road trip. Reached 25.9 mpg. Obviously I can't contribute it all to the gas, but I thought it was neat. While I was filling up at the 7 Eleven I was all bitter for putting "crap" gas into my 8 but it turned out really well for me. Yay for serendipity.

I've put 89 and 91 in the tank and noticed nothing different. I add Fuel Power Plus so I figure that is helping whatever gas I put in the car. I usually go to Costco for gas.

i dont think the additives really work, lucas octane treatment and seafome was all i used and didnt notice any chances.

FP Plus helps clean out the carbon from the engine by turning it into a graphite lubricator or something like that. Additives do not make a noticable difference in power or performance. Gas additives that should be used are lubricious cleaners. Idemitsu PreMix, FP Plus, MMO, etc This is a common practice for the roatary engine, but that is a whole different thread.

FP Plus you buy online, same with Idemitsu premix. I think you are looking at like $60 for a gallon of FP Plus and probablly the same for a case of Idemitsu Premix. Most people will use FP Plus for its cleaning ability and pair it with a lubricator such as MMO or Idemitsu PreMix. 4oz lube and 2 oz cleaner.

It does not matter what gas you put in as long as it is the recommended 91 octane. Name or no name gas all comes from a few refineries. Put the cheapest 91 octane gas and save your money for mods. It all work the same.
