Thought it was suppose to be 3k rpm...

 

I've never had mine flood after doing all the wrong things for 3 years .
I would say to any new owner . Get familiar with the deflood proceedure in the manual , and just forget about all this crap about not shutting off cold and reving it before shutting off .
If you ever do flood you will know what to do .

 

cold shutdown I rev to 3000, just to be safe.

 

I do the same with cold shutdown - rev up to 2 - 3 K

 

Let's confuse people some more.

 

Cold shutdown I rev/hold at 3k for 10 seconds. Not had a problem with flooding or starting.

 

I take the spark plugs out every morning and do the purge procedure, then reinstall spark plugs, just to be sure. Takes about 1 hour every morning but better to be safe than sorry is what I think. Now my wrist muscles are really strong.

Yes. I rev to 10 rpm and hold it for 3K seconds. But only if I'm cold.

 

I wonder how many out there haven't had their hard start upgrade done...?

Rev between upshifts, rev between downshifts, and rev in neutral just for good measure. If traveling longer than 2-3 miles without a rev, go ahead and catch up on revs within the next half-mile. The alternative fix, when falling behind the necessary revs per mile, is to cook on Broil mode for 2 minutes on high heat, then reduce to Bake mode on medium-high heat for 3 minutes.

Cover in aluminum foil for 7 minutes, then serve your guests a taste of rotary.

 

Damn it, now I'm hungry. I need to go get something to eat. Not sure if I feel like lifting my car to remove the spark plugs and purge the engine. Dilemma dilemma.

 

i do it all the time in winter. in summer, only do it if engine is cold

 

That is all I do. It's never flooded.

 

If the temp gauge hasn't started to move I do the rev to 3k and turn it off after the revs fall. Otherwise, I just turn it off and haven't had an issue, with both the old and revised starter.

 

I started it, and backed it out of the garage 25 feet in order to wash it. I washed it. I started it back up to put it back. It started. I shut it off. It started the next day. Questions???
