Bad job on engine replacement.
Bad job on engine replacement.
I've Recently had my engine replaced under a special warranty by the dealer. After taking it home under normal driving speed it was all fine, but the next day I went out to fill up on gas I had a coolant line bust on me 4km out the road.
Is it fair to ask for additional compensation from the dealer for creating a potential dangerous situation and also for my trouble as the repair will definitely be compensated.
This won't be monetary just some additional repairs to top it up.
Need advice if I should proceed with this or not.

Why do you deserve something more than just having your car fixed?
You weren't actually driving the car when the line broke, were you?
The engine didn't over heat, did it?
Were you mauled by a bear at the gas station because you couldn't get someplace safe with your now non-running car?
You don't normally get free stuff just because you were inconvenienced, you know.
BC.

Those bright lights on your dash that pop on when there's a problem and there to prevent a "potential dangerous situation". It should be an easy fix if it's only a coolant line if the dealer doesn't slack off.
The burden of proof is on you in this case. In most cases once the car leaves their lot they aren't responsible for most issues-- depends on the customer service of that particular dealer as well
Feel lucky that its was just a coolant line and not a fuel line

First of all, you will never, ever, get them to give you $.10 more than they have to. So if you were somehow hurt because of their negligence you would till have to
hire a lawyer and take on Mazda. You're best bet is to just take it back and get them to fix it for free.

Consider yourself slightly lucky. Some people have had their cars burn to the ground after a engine replacement because the dealership cheaped out and didn't use the right parts and the fuel lines disconnected.
