You are correct, but there are people out there that feel any choice that does not agree with their choice is wrong and only their choice is best. They will degrade anyone that does not agree.

This doesn't seem to make sense based on your quote below.

gay  [gey] Show IPA adjective, -er, -est, noun, adverb
–adjective
1.
having or showing a merry, lively mood: gay spirits; gay music.
2.
bright or showy: gay colors; gay ornaments.
3.
given to or abounding in social or other pleasures: a gay social season.
4.
licentious; dissipated; wanton: The baron is a gay old rogue with an eye for the ladies.
5.
homosexual.
6.
of, indicating, or supporting homosexual interests or issues: a gay organization.

Your comment that Civic's are gay was meant as an insult to the car & its owners. It also implies something is wrong with being 'Gay'. Normally I could care less but you then followed that up with the quote about not calling anyone names. It is your right to be homophobic but contradicting yourself in the same thread will not help your RX-8 credibility.

Wish all this time everyone seems to waste arguing whether the auto is as good as the manual were used to convince Mazda to add a third rotor or somehow add a little more torque. Oh, btw, after buying a 2008 manual and loving it, I went back to the dealer and bought a 2008 40th that had not sold because it had the auto. Well I love them both for different reasons, kinda like loving two women,,,,,

Maybe we should have a manual vs. auto competition at Sevenstock. Winner take all!

Perhaps, but I've found that Easy can easily (no pun intended) get the drop on me cause he's got different gearing with the 4 speed AT. He was high in 2nd gear and cause me low in 3rd and walked me...probbaly without juicing it either.

I find a manual car is more fun to drive but simply going by a performance vs. performance value between the transmissions, real world experience is going to trump the armchair racing.

I think of all the debates on 8club, this one has been beaten back into the stone age.

I have had a couple of sporty cars. Spec-v, STI, IS300,and some have been AT and some have been MT. In the RX-8 and I have an auto, I got a smokin deal on it and do I wish I had a MT? Sure sometimes I do but you should get what you feel comfortable driving. I will tell you that a AT is sluggish from the start but hauls *** once the RPM's get going hence why sometimes I wish I had a MT. You could always get a AT and if it does not make you happy save your money for like 5 years and do an MT swap, or just have both AT and MT.
