auto/manual performance

does anyone know the specs on the different engines in the auto/manual transmissions. Will the performance(0-60, 1/4 mile) be significantly affected with the automatic trans. I hope not.

Yes it will be affected as the automatic version will only be available with the 210 hp engine. Not to mention the extra drive train loses due to the automatic transmission.

Personally I think this car will not have very much "soul" with the auto tranny. It will probably feel sluggish around town... And it won't rev to 8-9K rpm which what owning a rotary is all about isn't it? :D

Damn good question!

I was leaning toward the auto, but noticed today - it's a four speed! (C & D and maybe others were saying 5 speed)

I'm kinda thinking, with less HP, and trying to spread available torque over four ratios, I'd lose a whole big chunk of performance. I think if the 6-speed comes std. with sport suspension, that will be the clincher for me.
