Audio Settings: What are ur
1. Type of radio system: A. stock, B. Bose, C. Modified
2. Bass
3. Treble
4. Fade
5. Balance
6. Other..... autopilot on/off, etc
Tia (thanks in advanced not aunt)
Since the driver sits closer to the front and left speakers, I would think that those would be set to less than the others
Ie higher setting to the right and rears but that's just me.

AS per his thread there are a few things affecting our differences in settings
A. Volume
B. Type of Music...
C. Windows open or closed including our MOON/Sun roof.
D. How fast/loud our engines sound, ie some like to hear the engine sound more than the music.
E. Our differences in hearing (being 61, my hearing should be different from tem youngens)
F. Guess we would have different settings, depending on A to D above? I do not want to manually be changing the settings for each of the above, I want automatically. Push a button for each, like pushing the button for each station.

3. Treble

2. Bass +1
3. Treble (eww sounds bad at +6) -1
4. 0
5. Balance - Rear +2
6. Centerpoint - On, AutoPilot On
7. Basslink II Amp with Subwoofer - 50% Gain, 50 Hz Crossover, +2 dB, Phase 0 degrees, Installed in Trunk.
8. Sirius XM Radio (self installed Mazda kit)
EDIT - The Sirius Install is a pain in the ***. Not worth the 6 hours, have it done by the dealer and pay the $$

Wow, am I the only one without the bose stereo? Did the '04's with the bose just not say bose on the speaker covers. I am pretty satisfied with the stereo if it is indeed not bose. Should make it easy to have my sub and amp installed, and I'll be VERY satisfied with it.
1. bose
2. Bass +4
3. Treble +3
4. Fade R2
5. Balance 0
6. audiopilot off
i don't think the bose system necessarily has a lack of bass. it just lacks the quality lows of a subwoofer.

I asked what owner's Bose settings were before and here is what people posted: https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=95931
Bose
Audio Pilot: off
Treble: +5
Bass: +4
Fade and Balance: 0
I found that the treble was pretty lifeless until it got turned up to +5, but +6 was too much. At +5, cymbals were crisp but not too shrill.
Bass is the trickiest. Too low and no bass, too high and it gets muddy and affects vocals. With Audio Pilot off, I found +4 was a good choice. If I had AP on, I would probably turn it down to +3 or lower.
Audio Pilot--I initially had it turned on until I started sampling the same passages over and over with it on/off. I found that the vocals sounded more "forward" with it on, but less crisp and clear. It's a tradeoff it seems. I've kept it off.

I have a 12" sub in the trunk mounted in a Zenclosures box, which is tapped into my rear speakers, so this will be different than most.
-Bose
-Bass +3
-Treble +1
-Balance 0
-Fade F2 to R1, depending on how much low end I want from the sub.
-Volume (thought this should be included too) Anywhere from ~15 next to grannys at stoplights and 24 cruising on the freeway.
I've listened to both the stock and Bose systems, and they're not bad for stock. But as you all probably know, the bass is some weak sauce. It's worth the slight drawbacks to put some bump in the trunk.

Thanks CarAndDriver for pointing to ur thread and not saying SEARCH.
Looks like the settings are all over the place. Each of us has different hearing.
Guess the next question should be:
What did u do to change/Improve the audio sound
