Aren't there any HVAC people in the forum?

What's up with the A/C? Lots of threads and anecdotal info, but since Mazda has yet to address the issue I keep hoping that someone who KNOWS their way around automobile air conditioning systems would have gotten fed up with their RX-8's anemic A/C and lack of definitive Mazda fix, and gotten to the bottom of this issue. It would be great to know where the defect(s) lie and whether or not they could be remedied for a reasonable cost.

I will add my 1 data point - Dealer tested my system and found high-side pressure normal, but low-side was 35psi. Per the manual, low-side should be between 12 and 22, if I recall. Yet, they sent me home saying it checked out ok(??). I've been reluctant to go back seeing as how I really haven't seen anything on this forum that reads like a success story. From the manual's troubleshooting system this symptom (low-side pressure abnormally high) seems to implicate either the evaporator or a temperature sensor that lies in close proximity to the evaporator and must be positioned just-so. I suppose I'll be taking it back, but not holding my breath for results at this point.

Just wishing that a real EXPERT is out there..... somewhere? We know something is wrong. Let Mazda bury it's head. Can we organize some kind of methodical investigation? Do we need a Canzoomer stage-1 A/C booster ?
