ANyone have a clicking noise upon startup?

Hey all....new member here.....Just got my BLACK RX8 Base 6 speed.

Does anyone notice a clicking noise when first starting the car?
It last for a couple of minutes until the car is warmed up.

Once warm its not noticible.

Thx,
Jeff

I hear the antilocks initializing and an occaision solenoid (depending on temp) but nothing that last for a few minutes. Can you tell where the noise is coming from?

I found out what it is.......its something to do with thte clutch.....cuz when I depress the clutch, the clicking goes away.....

A funny thing it is....Why would the tranny/clutch click when not warmed up, but go away when warm?

Is this anything to worry about?? Is it gewtting the proper lube when cold?

IS the noise just normal....or is it something that needs to be evaluated......

Mind you it does diminish greatly (barely noticible) one warm.

(and diminishes completely when I depress the clutch)

The throw out bearing is very load in most of the RX8's. If the bearing is bad it will make a bad noise in the loaded position clutch in position not the neutral clutch postion. Mine does the noise thing. If I put just a little pressure on the petal it goes a way. There just isn't enough pressure on the bearing to keep it from making a noise.

clicking noise

I too have a clicking noise on startup

it seemed to occur after about 3-4000 km.

most noticable when the car is cold and dissapears (almost) when car is warm.

the clicking noise is not unlike tappet noises i used to get on my old mx5, and gets faster if the car is reved faster.
only noiticable from outside the car and does not get into the cabin when the windows are up.

the dealer couldnt spot it (the car was warm)
