Anyone else got Silvia luv too?

Anyone else here working on a 240 as a side-project? I admit I caught the 240 bug, but it really is a nice car! At any rate it keeps me from doing the stupid stuff in the 8...

I was gonna track down a 240SX I forget the year off the top of my head, and do the SR20DET engine swap and do it up really nice for basic street/track use not for drifting but opted to save myself the headache of finding parts and shops to do the work and after my car accident got the 8! lol.. In a few years if I'm set up nicely might find that 240SX and do it up but if I'm really set up screw the SR20DET and give me a RB24DETT. Yes I know alot of customization goes into it but there is a shop up in Canada that has done them before, again if I'm rich lol..

you can use alot of the 300zx parts, brakes, rear diff, etc.

why the ca18 and not a sr20 black top??

I like the cars. However, in general, the people that drive them are douche bags. You're not a drifter, you're not in 2F2F, you're not JDM, you're not asian, hello kitty is not cool, and your ******* hat is crooked...in general.

the CA is pretty much a truck engine, plus you could get a black or red top sr20 easily in the US. transmission and all.

oh here's another LUV pic (clean body s14):

Problem with the SR20DET is that it's "illegal" here in California. That's why there are soo many 240's with SR swaps for sale on craigslist. You won't pass emissions with an SR swap.

I've read a little bit on a 240 forum and alot of the guys there seem to like simple to turbocharge the KA engine.

i too, had a 92 fastback! my previous car to the 8. as old as it was the interior never rattled!! thats how they are suppose to be right? i forgot since i've owned the 8........

guys, dont go bashing the car until you've owned one. just because its becoming the new fad for all the kids, doesnt mean is a POS ( aside from the engine troubles haha )

CA? dont do it. SR is the way to go especially since the aftermarket support is sooo much easier to come by here in the US nowadays. your going to have a lot more trouble locating a part for the CA here in the US.

Hell yeah!! i personally would love a white s15 track day car. Somewhere around 350 bhp, anti lag, sequential 'box, on slicks and fully lightened....some day...

I almost got a 240sx the other day it was in the trader for 700$. It sold the second it went out. I always had a thing for the 240 but I always end up getting a new car and skipping on the projects. Now everytime I look in the trader I see "GREAT FOR DRIFTING", it makes me sad and I dont want to buy 1 anymore

I've been tring to do something differant I'm after a Datsun, they all seem to be $$$$ in Fl.

Simple..for the same reason I drive an 8. 240's with SR20s are becoming the norm, I like my cars to be unique. Thats why.

norm huh........ theres a reason why people are doing Sr swaps over Ca swaps. Simply put: SR > CA.

if you want to be really different. try getting a SR20VE and building it NA. I think its from an awd layout, but if u have the money, and want to be unique, then the VE works!!

That description about perfectly fits my sister's roommate's boyfriend who claims he's a drifter that drives a Silvia. Can't stand the guy.

Meh. They're OK. The JDM version are really the only ones that look half-way decent, and this whole drifting thing isn't doing the car any favours.

i like them more as drag cars, after an SR swap you can cheaply create a mid 12 sec car.
