Anybody have a dealer accuse you of drifting?
I recently went into the dealer because both my sun visors separated (TSB). I had also been experiencing a slow leak (about 1 psi per day) in my front right tire so I asked them to look at it to see if it could be repaired. They informed me that it was a bead leak and they could repair it for $43. That sounded kind of high, but I said go ahead with it. Anyways, I checked my tire pressure a couple of days later and it was low. I have had to re-inflate the tire several times since then (2 weeks ago) and the rate of leakage has been the same. I finally had the time to stop back in the dealer today and they looked at the tire again. Apparently there is a small cut on the sidewall on the back side of the tire that is leaking air. They quoted me $270 to replace the tire. I wasn't prepared to spend this much so I declined. I was a little mad that they had missed the cut the first time and got charged the $43, so I asked for a refund of the previous unnecessary repair. The guy told me that there was no way they missed the cut the first time and that this is a different leak. There is no way, the tire has never stopped leaking and the rate of leaking has been consistent. After arguing for a minute, out of nowhere, he proceeds to say that the tech told him that I had been drifting my car. My car is bone stock, I have never done any sort of racing or drifting, and I have 24,000 on my original tires and they still have a lot of tread left. I would say that I drive a little spirited, but nothing out of the ordinary, so I couldn't believe he would be making an insane claim like this with no base or evidence. I called Mazda North America and filed a complaint and they said they would send me a gift card (which I'm not sure what I am going to do with). Is there anything else I should do? Needless to say, I won't be going back to this dealer.

lol nice
I'm not sure how they check for tire leaks but I've had a bad experience with it as well. I had a nail in my tire and told them specifically where it was. I did everything but point it out to them and figured it wouldn't be too hard to locate the head. A few hours later I go back up there.
They said they didn't find a leak or a nail. They said they did a submersion test to find an air leak and nothing was found. I was shocked and figured maybe I was just crazy. Sure enough there was the nail and they then said it was in a irreparable spot and then tried to sell me new tires because I only had a few thousand miles left on them as is.
I laughed and went home and ordered them off tire rack.

wow... the dealer blamed my cold air intake for my engine flood. funny things was... my intake is mazdaspeed and had to tell the tech that if it did that, they better send out a service bulletin for the ms intake....

I would've laughed and asked them to prove it; then I wouldve called Mazda while still there in front of him and explained the circumstances (while being calm) then wouldve passed my iphone off to the rep so I could have the pleasure of watching him get chewed out by Corperate, then after I got my tire repaired for free, I wouldve drifted out of the service bay. HA!!

Your local comcast cable co does advertising targeted by location. You could be a real *** and spend a couple hundred bucks to put up commercials talking about how the dealer is a scammer who takes your money and doesn't provide services. It's freedom of speech.

I would contact the general manager and request a refund. If that doesn't work, I'd file a complaint with the better business bureau. Calling mazda north america is also a good route to go, it has more pull, but the BBB is more likely to be on your side.

i had this cop pull me over and site me for wreckless driving about a month ago when i caught an oversteer off of a freeway exit. He proceeded to lecture me about how dangerous 'drifting' my car was...and how racing isn't cool
i didn't have the heart to tell him i was driving an Automatic i did ask him to please write down that i was 'drifting' on the ticket because my friends will never believe that i just got pulled over for this ****...
