Any transmision problems??

Hey, I hope someone can maybe help me. I have only had my 8 for about a month and i have about 3500KM on it so far. I have started to notice a shudder in the car when I put it in to first from neutral while at a complete stop. Now it doesn't seem to do this all the time however, I have been driving cars with manual transmisions all of my life and I have never felt a car shudder like this when shifting in to first gear.

Has anyone experienced this? or does anyone have any ideas about what this could be? I just want to be educated before I go to the dealer.
Any help would be great....

you are in km land somewhere. where? what flash are you on...

likely it has nothing due to the trans.. it is a shudder as the ecu comes back to idle.... it used to do it as the ac cycled.

Yes I am in KM land...
Im in Brampton ON
Im not sure what flash I have, is there a way to find out?
The shudder happens while the AC is off. I very rarely use the AC.

Any other thoughts???

What do you mean by shutter? Can you be more specific?

im not sure that shutter is the right description, I guess that you can also describe it as a shake. You can feel the car shak a bit when it happens. I guess another way to describe it is it feels like some one has given you a light bump from behind.

Shutter is not the right description. A shudder however might be possible

Get your engine mounts checked .if they are not welded correctly they can produce shudder .

No, I dont feel it in the idle. You can only feel it when you push the stick in to first gear. As you do it you feel a jolt in the car, as I described, it feels almost like someone has hit you lightly from behind because the car actually jolts a bit.

I think I have the same with my 8

When you go put it in first it feels like something doesnt quite match up in the tranny, i seem to get a jolt as the tranny alignes properly. This is with the clutch in, once I am actually in gear the car behaves normally. I havnt really thought about it but this might only be when the car is cold. The tranny and engine seem much smother when fully warmed up.

3,500km is around 2,200 miles, my cars done 22,000km around 13,500miles

I wouldn't worry about it. It's a rear wheel drive car the tranny is right next to your leg. That click and bump you feel is just the gears engageing.
