2006 specs

there is a car dealer in canada that has advertised the specs of the 2006 rx-8. Looks like the only change is the 6-speed auto.

no information on release dates

given that the price lists are not even out, it looks like the earliest date the cars will arrive is around March 2007. Maybe even later. It would be unusual to launch a Sport Prestige II model now and launch the 2006 model in such a short time frame.

You are close to solving the Rubix cube. What color on the cube has Mazda not gotten rid of and you will advance to the next level.

Unhappy long time coming

I put my deposit down on an a Winning Blue 06 (touring package, nav, plus extras) in October. I was told then to expect delivery in mid-november. I just recieved a call today from the dealership that that date has been pushed back to late Jan, early Feb.

I'm starting to think that the 06 8 is just a myth

i got told this evening that mazda has informed the Canadian dealerships not to see any on the lots until mid Feb. and around here, finding an '05 that you want is hard as well. plus the shipping company that hauls the cars around on trucks may be starting a strike this coming weekend, which will make it harder for dealer trades outside cities...

Don't know 'bout US spec but 06 Euro spec prices area already out. They'll be charging €170 more. Confirmed new features are cruise control (We didn't get it before) and voice-operated satnav. Don't have a clue regarding keyless entry.

People I know have ordered '06 cars and should be getting them around january.

Where I live we only get the 238 Hp version with sport package (Heated leather seats, satnav, sports suspension, 6 CD changer, Xenons...)

For USA

Keyless entry, and couple new colors will replace couple old colors. Big dealships are saying late Jan early FEB litlle dealerships march. Mazda 1-800-222-5500 says March. Mazda wake up before you loose all your customers

2005 stocks

There is probably a lot of 2005 stocks to clear. We won't see the 2006 on the roads so soon.

That's true. If I go to Mazda's website and search within 50 miles of my zip code, there are still 110 RX-8's. They sold quite a few after the car show in Tampa last weekend. But, it will still take a while to clear them all out.

It's funny, because most other countries aren't overstocked. Looks like Mazda NA miscalculated a bit. Here in Edmonton Alberta Canada most dealers have one or two cars. Some have none.

Why would you want an 06? Winning Blue is available now and its the same car. Why wait and pay more? You can get an 05 lower than an 06. I dont know why anybody would put money down on a next year RX-8. its not as if those cars are gonna sell like hot cakes when thy are out and they arent limited edition. You can buy it when they do come out, why leave your money at a dealership?
