yep I already have 3 buddies that has one. now another friend is about to join the rank. He currently has a audi A4 1.8t on lease thats expiring soon. And also owns a 2002 E46 M3 convertible as his weekend car.
So now he needs a daily driver to replace his Audi. Coming from a M3, he had absolutely no respect for the rx8, but I convinced him to test drive the rx8. He went into the testdrive being very skepticle but came out very happy. He likes it so much hes about to buy a used fully loaded one for 16k. It just shows that the rx8 is a drivers car that begs to be driven
(and that its resale value is kinda bad :P )

16K is an extremely low price. Buyer beware. The RX-8 is supposed to have a rather high resale value. An '05 with 20K miles lists (suggested retail per Kelly Blue Book) at $27.5K. This is loaded with the exception of Nav.
Tell your friend to look carefully at this purchase.

no idea how many miles it has, he just told me its fully loaded and used. Hes getting it from a toyota dealer that he used to work for and where his pops still works. I highly doubt that dealership would cheat him.

Funny. None of my friends/co-workers/kids'-friends'-parents have been cool enough to buy one.
A couple of close friends do say they really appreciate my car, especially the one who drove it and I taught him to shift at 7k to 8k instead of 3k. He had a hard time overcoming his piston-based instincts and couldn't bear to red-line it, but he had equal fun driving it and swinging from the O.S. handle when I red-lined it.

16k is a little too cheap. I am looking at a fully loaded '05 with the appearance package and 25k miles for $21,990 and I am kind of leary about that. I'm not sure, but the Katrina cars could still be out there.
