Another Newbie.. Yee hahhhh
Hey Ya'll from Vancouver Canada. Just picked up my '04 Black GT 8... Love it so far only 45 kms on it (30 miles).
Depsite all the stuff I've heard lately about the 8, whenever I get in it or think about it I smile. And that's the most important thing. The way this machine acts when it's working far outweighs when it doesn't.
For other canadian's that are interested I picked it up for $38,750 CDN with a 3.9% lease rate. Pretty happy with that.

congrats rx8van! Wow ... that's a pretty good price. Is that price including taxes? Cuz I thought I had one of the best deals (at 40.5K all in) but recently there was another fellow from Calgary that got it for 39.6K all in. If yours is including taxes that makes you the champion!

Thanks
Hey Guys .. Glad to be part of the club.. always wanted a car that had one...
The price I quoted wasn't all in.. it's plus all those taxes, dealer doc etc... but I still think it was a pretty decent price.... just went out with some friends driving around. It's raining here but people still check out the car. I think I'm in love with it, my girlfriend won't like that.
Just about to sit down and read the owners manual... Thanks for the welcome.

South African Newbie
I am also a newbie, just joined your forum and it looks great. I've had my RX8 (Red-6 Speed) for 3 weeks now and am extremely happy. The popularity of the RX8 is increasing here in South Africa, BMW's are still ruling the streets though.
I went out looking for a E46 M3 but came home with a RX8 In SA, the price of one of these babies costs a cool $53 000. thats with a 3 year Motor Plan, as opposed to the M3 which was $86 000, for me it was a bargain in terms of power to cost ratio.
Good to know that there is such great interest in this car worlwide.

Hey, welcome. May you enjoy many hours ...
... walking backwards across a parking lot admiring your ride
... saying "thanks" to all the folks that say "Hey, nice car!"
... taking the garbage out to the garage and winding up spending 15 minutes just walking around the car checking it out (I did this last night and thought my wife was going to kill me. She instead said "I did the same thing last week when you were out of town")
... washing and waxing it just for the enjoyment of it - not because the car is actually dirty or dull or anything, heavens no.
... finding the longest, twistyest, most enjoyable way to drive the 8 blocks over to the kids' soccer field (if you have kids like I do ... my -8 is a "family car" - room for three boys and dad!)
... going on a 10 minute drive when all you went outside to do was move the car into the garage for the night (hey, gotta avoid any possible opportunity for that flood issue, even though the M-flash fixed it, right?)
... driving around with the radio off just to listen to "the music of the -8".
Enjoy ...
