Ok, heres the kicker, I just got the car 3 weeks ago and the engine was going strong until I got into an accident. Someone hit my drivers side door and messed up a buncha ****. Anyways, it would start so the place I chose to fix it towed it to mazda to see if there was something wrong with it, and aparently I need a new engine.

So my question to this board is that if they drop a new engine into it will they put a referb 2004-2008 Ren into it, or will they put the new 09 Ren II into it? I've heard the new engine has a third oil injector that makes the engine almost bulletproof. I asked the techs at the mazda dealership but aparently they have no freaking idea whats going on... so I decided to ask on here

id assume the series I engine since the series II engine is different and they would have to change things around etc...

it is a reman 04-08 renny I search Sleepy-Z's thread's he works at a mazda rotary reman factory(?) in VA he has lots of good information on it!

yeah if i need a new engine i'm hoping for about 80-90k miles haha that way it's like almost getting anew car haha!!!!
