Actually, drove up to Seattle from Portland. I had about 75 miles of suburban/city driving on it and the rest highway. I-5 at speeds generally 75 MPH although at one stretch I was just keeping up with the other cars and looked at my speed and saw that I was going 84 so I slowed down.

Hey, must be that Teflon coating.

Are you talking around-town/city driving? In city driving I get ~17 mpg. In long distance highway driving you always get better mileage, especially with cruise control, and especially if the route is relatively flat.

Well, my driving is roughly 60% city and 40% highway, typically I get 18-19 mpg which is okay for the driving I do. Haven't had it on a good long highway trip yet so maybe it will go to 23 or so then. I just may try that teflon!!!

I think there must be like 4000 gas threads here now. But I'm hoping on the bandwagon. My prediction, in <2 years gas prices will be back down to 1.50. Remember this same exact thing happened in 1981. Gas was 3.00 a gallon then too and 3.00 was worth a lot more back then! And I remember getting gas in 1998 in OK for 0.96 a gallon. It will go back down. It has too.

The gas hike we got right now is somewhat different than the 1981 one.

and I kinda doubt that gas will go back to like 1.5 per gallon.

Anyway, what Im seeing now is .... 3.41 at my local BP ...
