Animal nest in cabin air filter!

Just an Update. So far we have caught 7 mice and have not had another incident with them chewing on the 8's or the camaro's insulation's for about 3 months now.
I am thinking about repairing the insulation that they chewed on the wheel wells of the 8.
I could buy new insulation liners and install them or i was considering coating the damaged area with a thick high temp engine paint.
Any suggestions on the type or paint or what are you thoughts on it adhering to the damaged parts of the insulation?

I popped the hood on my truck the other day, and found a rabbit sitting on the engine block. I chased him away and closed the hood. A few minutes later, he ran back under the truck. I popped the hood again, and there he was again. I shooed him away again, went inside, grabbed my son's Red Ryder BB gun, and promptly shot my eye out.
Fortunately, I have not found any damage to the truck.

Nah. More waskally than that even!
Actually, I think there was a rabbit in Bloom County. I'll have to look through my old books now. Thanks for that.
We have hundreds of Eastern cottontails in our neighborhood. I hit at least one a month--as does everyone else.
The true story is, I popped it in the butt, and it ran off seemingly for good.

This has happened to me numerous times over the years. The mice pull insulation to use as nesting material and bring it to the cabin filter through a large hole in the sheet metal, inside the engine bay directly next to the windshield washer fluid container. I've followed the path with an inspection camera. I filled the hole with some steel wool and covered it with gorilla tape. Haven't had a problem since. Some people might say that hole is important for venting heat, but that's nonsense.
