Alot of weird S*** happens but has anyone experienced this :S

So im on my way to get some lunch today. Cruising and taking it easy. Red light up ahead so i slow down. Im in the first in line and on the far right lane. THese 2 guys on bikes (bicycles not sport bikes) come up behind. So im stopped i look to my right and one of them is LEANING on my damn car. I was like WTF ?!?! So i roll down my window and tell him to please get off ... i then honk cause i dont think he heard. Light turns green and he gives me the finger. Found some nice hand prints on the A pillar.

Is it just me or are people just totally disrespectful these days ?? To some it might not be a huge deal but i mean dont treat my car like an arm rest PLEASE. This was some old fart who had no respect for anything or anyone it seemed. Dont know if i over reacted but instinct sorta kicked in when i saw it and told him to get off.

ANyways sorry for the ranting.

Thoughts :P

No, people are extremely disrespectful! I watched someone ding my door with theres. So I confront him about. "That was there already!" Yeah...and the other car just happens to be the same color as your car...

I would have calmly gotten out of my car, walked to their side, and shot their tires out...but hey...that's just me.

Yes it sucks, but hardly worth pulling out a gun and going to jail. May be worth an assault charge after you pimp slap him though?

Drop clutch so your car jolts forward, he falls down, then give him a nice face full of fireball exhaust yo.

More realistically, if I were in the far right lane I would have waited for an opening in traffic and gunned it while making a right hand turn, hoping the guy falls down. What an *******.

If you had no cars in front of you, it would have been quite funny if you took off while he was still leaning on your car....He would have it coming.

That's some sweet move.

I'm a cyclist commuter too, but these wannabe cyclists with full spandex gear are the pits, thinking they own the road.

I'm a cyclist as well. I don't commute much anymore due to distance, lack of a shower, and a somewhat changing schedule. I however would never lean on or even touch a car while on the road. While cyclist have the same rights to the road as a car technically, i'll always give a car the right away. If i'm in a group i make sure we run single file if there is a car back. I'll always pull off on a windy road or wave cars by when it's safe for them and me if they're stuck behind me. My biggest pet peeve is cyclists who don't obey traffic laws. Running red lights and stop signs, not staying to the right, and no signaling: these are the reasons why motorists dislike cyclists. Also when there is a large group and they ride 3 wide to take up an entire lane on a 2 lane road drives me nuts. If it's a curvy road it's even worse. While they technically have a right to the lane, it's rude to not let faster traffic pass. They'll let faster cyclist by without issue though. I was being blocked by a group on a curvy road last summer. Once i eventually had space to get by safely I did but it was shortly before an intersection. I waited at the stop sign until they caught up and waved one of them up to my window. I politely told him that his group was being rude and what they were doing is what gives cyclists a bad name and makes motorists aggressive towards them. I let him know that I was i cyclist and had already ridden 30 miles earlier in the morning and not some dome meat head in a car trying to bully them.

There are a lot of respectful cyclists out there, but as gas goes up and the sport/hobby grows, we get more people that think they own the road and don't have to pay attention to traffic and traffic laws.

Fuz,

They just move their level of attention, respect, and skill from their commuter SUV to a bicycle...

yea, I always dont get why people dress like that on the road?
I mean I have my race suit for motorcycle but I only wear it on a race track. I imagine looking like an idiot in it on the road. same goes cyclist. cant they just wear normal clothes?
I mean you are just commuting on the street not racing.
