in the glove box.
I hate wires going here to there on my sight so I just put it in the glove box. I have Garmin and couldn't find hardwire kit for Garmin...
Whenever I need to use it, I just told my girlfriend to hold it

I had been looking for a GPS to fit in the holder that goes in the top of the dash. I wasn't able to find a 7" GPS so I have opt'd for the Double DIN unit. I have seen some dash mounted units to the left of the stearing console between the bump and the A Pillar.

I just use the suction cup mount stuck to the lower left of the windshield for my TomTom. The cord goes down next to the instrument cluster on the left and in the steering wheel gap finally plugging into the lighter in front. It doesn't look too bad and certainly doesn't obstruct your line of sight.

I'd get a suction cup mount for the windshield myself.

Secure in the knowledge that whoever tries to steal it will tear up the nav unit / your dash? I went through the same "I want to make it hard to steal" phase when mounting my amp, then someone here pointed out they'd just destroy anything they can't take. My amp is now mounted with velcro (which might in fact be more obnoxious to deal with then a bolt) and I'm happier for it.
I'd get a suction cup mount for the windshield myself.

either way Im going to lose something, so why give parts of the losses to the thieves and *hopefully* I can loose less ?
I've seen a lot of these incidents. they will still rip apart all your wires and dash, so dont expect them to be *nice* to your car or whatever just becuz the *name part here* is easy to take.
they will never be able to get anything out of my car for their profit. simple as that
