Advice: Engine Test?

I wanted to ask a quick question to see what people have been doing. The extended warrenty on my 04 ends next january... I have about 45K miles on my car and fill up with 89 Chevron with premix since 20K miles.. My engine seems to be fine, no loss of power, redline regularly and idles well... Even with all of that, should I still get a vacuum test just in case if something is wrong and I need a fix or at worst, a new engine? Has people been taking theirs in before the warrenty is out?

Yes, get a compression test. You may not feel it or know it, but you could be getting close to the minimum compression numbers.

Is it worth getting the compression test just in case? Or vacuum is good enough?
