Advice on Clifford Matrix GPS Tracker vs Viper mixed with Cartoys?
Alrighty after a little bit of research into upgrading my security on my car, originally planned to get the full latest and greated Viper system with GPS track, OR the latest and greated Clifford Matrix system with GPS tracking.
The only place around that I know that sells and installed them is "Car Toys", i doubt everyone knows of them but does anyone have any experience from them? They only sell the clifford unit. I was quoted 400 installed for the actual alarm system (some modules like tilt alarm add a bit extra) and another 500 (w/o installation) on the GPS tracking module. For the install of the GPS I was quoted around 200 or 250 rough estimate
So what we are looking at here if I went ***** blazing is, 400 for the alarm, 500 for the GPS, about 80 for the tilt modual i want, and 250 for the GPS install. Total estimate for THAT say $1300 dollars.
I was told I dont have to purchase the actual alarm system and could JUST get the GPS unit (which is all im really interested in). And then say just get the shock sensor upgrade from mazda, and a big bright blue LED alarm panel insatlled for like 50 bucks to make it 100% obvious there is an alarm in the car (even if it is just stock with shock sensor) This option is a much easier to swallow estimate at 800 dollars.
I konw i could spend tons more money but in the end nothing will protect 100% from car theft but if the unfourtunate happens say getting it hauled away in the middle of the night from a flatbed. I would have the ability to find it and in all probability get it back.
Any thoughts are appreciated! Especially if you have any experience dealing with Cartoys becaues I'm running 100% blind on what kinda work they do.

yes I know - but im due to get my car back from the shop here in a day or two and i want to have a plan of action ASAP because the less time my car sits in the parking lot without something a little beefier security wise the better.

You should ask this in Electronics section, you should get lot more replies there. I wouldn't spend that much money on the gps. If someone steals my car I wouldn't want the cops to find it , I would rather have the insurance pay for a new car. Clifford and Viper are owned by the same company so it shouldn't matter which one you get.
