Hi from across the pond!

You lucky Americans seem to get the "advanced keyless entry and start system" module with the R3s but we don't over in the UK. I'm just wondering if anybody could share a part number of said modules and if it can be fitted to a UK R3 at all?

Interesting, I thought all R3s and GTs 2009-2011 came with that feature.

Sorry, i don't know what the part # is. Get it from your local Mazda.

But this I know: the receiver can be quite expense. Mine was replaced under warranty, and it was around $500.00 US dollars.

 

My R3 has the keyless entry, but not the start system. I think it has to do with it being a manual transmission.

 

no RX8's have remote start. its called keyless start, not remote start means you dont need to stick a key in the ignition to start it.

 

My Mazda dealer want to charge £470/$735 just for the part!!

 

Exactly.

The system is also called "keyless entry", which means you can open the door by simply pressing a little button on the handle.
