Does anybody make an adjustable footrest for the RX-8?

I searched the forum for this, but all that turned up was the guy whose foot rest broke on an on ramp, and people asking about the footrest for the auto.

I'm having a little trouble getting seated in my 8. Lower back trouble and overweight. 90% of the way to a good fit, and it seems like lowering the foot rest by an inch or so would get me the rest of the way. Taking it out altogether, or replacing it with a chunk of 2x4, was way too much.

Before I embark on a construction project, I thought I'd ask if there was any kind of aftermarket piece.
