the appearance package has the front air dam side aero thingies and rear aero thingies(flares?) $970

then you have to add the wing spoiler on top of that. the wing spoiler is the seen on the black car. $355

total=$1325 usd. won't be sneaking that past the wife. looks like just the cd changer for me. they don't have those strakes for the behind-the-wheel(gotta be a better name for those) vents listed. i wonder how much they will be?

I thought these were the flares..

https://www.rx8club.com/attachment.php?postid=36837

Are these not in any of those new pkgs?

I see you listed front fogs as an addon.. darn I thought those are standard! All the pics say so... please confirm.

no those are the "strakes" and they are not listed on the website at all.

the base model doesn't come with fogs, but you can get them seperate if you want without bumping up to the sport package.

the flare can be seen in this pic as well as the front air dam

in fact most of the items can be seeen in the brochure from japan

what is the difference between the side/rear skirts and the side/rear flares? I really like the front air dam, but I'm not really a fan of the 'side flares?' Whichever ones are on the red one there in the japanese brochure I don't really like. I just want the dam!

exterior:
front air dam, strakes for wheel vents and rotor accents and foglight if available. Brushed exhaust would be cool too. The price is going to soar into the stratosphere.

That's right, the Touring and GT come with the fogs.. whew. thanks for clearing up my panic attack.

Aah.. so those added plastics (ground effects looking things) are the flares and dams.. Hmm no thanks.

Just rotors are fine.. now I guess I might have to make my own fin strakes hahaha

Yep, the Superleggera III. Trouble is, they're a three-piece wheel, with a forged center and two spun aluminum rim pieces, all held together by titanium bolts. Not exactly the sort of thing that Mr Mazda is going to offer as a factory option, methinks. I'd be happy with regular Superleggeras, or even Chrono Evolutions.

here is the complete list, without prices , the rotary accents include a cap to replace the "M" logo in the center of the wheels. don't ask where i got this.

These are all of the non factory installed options. they will be installed at the port or the dealer.

Audio:

CD/MP3 player
6-disc CD Changer
Mini-Disc player(maybe changer)

Body/Interior:

Silver strakes for the nose and gills like the X-men car
Brushed metal exhaust pipe bezels
Front air dam, side and rear skirt. Air dam is nice!
Side skirt(more like a moulding on the dogleg in front of rear wheels
Brushed aluminum scuff plates
Loop-type rear wing spoiler(think of Eclipse only less tall)
18" OZ wheels
RR rotary foglight bezel
front fogs
Brushed-look grille trim
Satin and Chrome Gas Door lids
Rotary-shaped shift **** for the automatic
Brushed custom rotor-type centercaps to replace the M logo
Brushed console vent rings and trim
And Premium floormats(other than factory)
when will these prices be released?

window guard

no mention was made anywhere of this window guard from the japanese brochure. i found them useful on my old accord. you can have the window down a little bit for the fresh air but no water gets in if it is raining.

No offense, but if the lack of a rotary-trimmed start button is a deal-breaker on getting an RX-8, maybe you should look at an EVO or WRX. Put one in yourself if you "gotta have it".

Any one talk to their dealers about adding these accessories? Mine did not know about them and thought it was too late to add port install options.

*note to self...sarcasm doesn't translate in print.

i was kidding bruh...thus the wink at the end of my post. i'll be importing the start button from japan. hey, if my friend's s2000 has one why can't i? :D

it would take a major catastrophe for me to cancel my pre-order toadman...and i mean MAJOR!

on a side note...can anyone shed some light on why the states ALWAYS get shafted on the cool ish for their cars? cost? demand? DOT?

I'M THINKING THAT THE FRONT & REAR POLISHED ROTORS REFFERED TO IN THE "ROTOR ACCENT KIT", REFERS TO THE DISC BRAKE ROTORS, NOT THE HEADRESTS.

ROTORS IN THE MOTOR ARE'NT THE ONLY ROTORS IN THE CAR.

What are the Front/Rear Splash Guards listed on the Mazda website? Are these mud flaps?

and What is the Brushed-look grille trim that zoom44 referred to? Is this referring to the latticework in the grille or something framing the grill?

Wouldn't do much good to polish your brake rotors. :D

Indeed, show me a car without polished rotors, and I'll show you a car with non-functioning brakes!
