ac compressor, not coming on?
Hello everyone, i hope you guys had a great thanksgiving. We had an 84 degree thankgiving day here in houston, and i noticed that one i turned on my ac, the air wasnt cooling. I then noticed that the compressor was not kicking on. No click or slight strain when as it would normally do. Has anybody here had this type of problem? Could it be a fuse or something? My car is a 2005 model , Ti gray and I have been the only owner. (well out of warrenty with about 68,000 miles)
Any input on this would be appreciated .

I couldnt find anything on DIY other than reprograming the controller, see its not that its blowing only hot air, its that the compressor is not coming on. So all i am getting is the fans.
Try this -

Also, check the fan clutch fuse, it has it's own in the front fusebox, 10 amp.

unscrew a cap on the A/c lines.....i think the caps are like a grey on the stainless steel lines there are a few....and get a small screw driver and press on the "nipple" type thing....but uh stand back it might spray on u hahaha......
If you checked 'em all then it's probably low freon.
The fuse is #22 bottom of middle row, marked 'a/c mag'
Take it to an a/c shop for a diagnosis - might just be low, $50.....
(and don't go poking random valves - if freon comes out you can be blinded easily, and what will a squirt of freon tell you anyway?)

well I am bumping a old thread instead of starting a new one.
my ac clutch will not engage. things I have tested
Tested the temp ****, seems to be in working order with power and scan up trick
Freon levels are good I think
with the car off I supplied 12v to the ac unit and clutch engages (load click)
the a/c mag fuse looks fine
so I am left with sending signal to the unit is there anything that could have been unplug? I know the signal wire is inside the power harness, the other end is? maybe the wite connector that goes into the fuse box?
any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Does the clutch kick on when you first turn on the ac then go off quickly?
It is most likely low fluid or a bad/unplugged pressure switch. It is a small risk to your compressor. If you really think the fluid is good then jump the clutch and let the car idle. Ac on high with the windows open and recirc off. Record the outside temp and the air temp in your vents then post them and ill check a pressure temp chart. The best way to check the system is a set of gauges not just the elchepo single gauge you get at autozone. The single gauge comes with a can of 134 and will at least tell you if the system pressure is low. That is while you have the system running.
