To be fair, he made a valid point. It's not exactly reasonable to claim that a computer controlled transmission is inherently any faster than a manual transmission, in terms of shifting speed. In many cases, the opposite is true. The computer is still limited to the capabilities of the other components involved in shifting.

I'm kind of curious what point you're trying to prove by showing off your new car. It's kind of irrelevant to the discussion at hand. Are you trying to make a point that your new car is faster than the RX-8? That it's an automatic and fast? That you drive a faster car than yax? I can't even tell if you're implying that you've moved on from a "slushbox" (automatic) to a manual car.

Okay, I'll bite, but, unfortunately, I can't bring my 6MT RX8. I got it rid of it a while ago. If you had looked at my signature, you would have realized I have now an '05 GTO... you know, the one that has the 400hp 6.0 LS2 Vette engine? I hope it's okay if it's not stock. It's at 450rwhp at the moment, but I can dial up another 50whp to make it right at an even 500 wheel.

Oh, and, it just happens to have one of those shitty, slow-shifting 6 speed manual transmissions in it, too.

Your move, Mr. Bad ***.

Yes you can spend about $2000 extra to make a 6port AT comparable to an MT in straight line speed..

Figures. But your overall lack of knowledge about all this stuff leads me to believe you're one of those FPFQ candidates. You would know what that is if you frequent the GTO forum.

And I still don't believe your modded 6port AT RX8 trapped 93mph, and that's what it would take JUST TO KEEP UP with a "properly" driven 6MT. I guess that means we're at a stalemate.

So which drag racing track were you going to when you raced your RX8, since you're from the area. The one in Temple, or SAR? I used to frequent both... or was that all bullshit, too?

Maybe u can bring that 500hp beast out and back up all this talk. Ive never been to tracks around temple..let me know where u are and my whole crew will come out. Lastly i dont give a flying **** what you believe about anything about me or anything related.

My problem with you is that you're advocating spending $2000 on a 6AT RX8, and saying your car can then beat 6MT's all day long. You have a video of your unmodded RX8 running 16's posted right here on this forum. How many bus lengths did you lose to the 350Z? I don't even believe you ran a 15.0 at 93mph in your car at a track. You have one video from the track, so prove me wrong with another one, or a dyno sheet, or whatever, and show all these nice folks here at RX8 club that if they plunk down 2 grand on their 6AT, they are going to be able to reproduce results. That's what matters, man. You can go blow smoke up your highschool buddy's ***, but if you post it here on the forum, you NEED to back it.

Let's reiterate - you're telling me a tune, 1500 rpm limiter increase, and a midpipe are going to buy you a FULL SECOND in the quarter mile? Really?

Lastly, you called me out, brah... not the other way around, and 450-500rwhp in this town isn't anywhere close to being a "beast".

Go.

Lol. Im literally in tears from laughter. I dont have to prove what ive already done. You go and buy an rx8 and prove it to yourself. And that lil 500 hp gto cant handle nothing in our car club. Tell me where yall go and soon as its 65 degrees outside your *** will get smashed by our slowest vehicle that we run.

Okay, I'm back.

Alright, let's catch up... something about you crying, a "lil" gto, something about the weather (are you a weather man?), smashing ***... and meds. Great.

I'll share a random quote. "Heroes aren't born, they're cornered."

We done, hero?

Freak, I'm not sure you know what bipolar means. From reading the posts, it sounds like you're more likely to be bipolar. Either way, I don't think bipolar would be accurate for anyone in this thread based on the posts we've seen.

I don't think yax needs to prove the claims you made. Logically, that just seems silly. If you do provide evidence and he still doubts you, he needs to present reasons to doubt your evidence. At that point, the burden of proof is his.

So you're wanting to prove a point by getting your friends to race yax and beat him? I'm not really sure why. It's not like yax said his car is the fastest. In fact, he suggested that his car is rather slow compared to a lot of other cars that you'll see around there.

Maybe my interpretation is off, but this is how this conversation seems to me. Yax questions your claims. You say you don't have to prove your claims and then brush it off with "you sayin' you wanna race me, bro?". Please excuse the paraphrase. That's just how I feel it can be best summarized to give off the same feeling as what you've been saying. So, instead of supporting your claims, you attempt to change the topic and prove an entirely unrelated point. Then you suggest to have your friends beat him for you.

who said anything about my friends?? I would race him personally and it would probably make HIM laugh because its not even close. Wouldn't even be a fair race. He'd have better luck racing my wife's mustang. and the challenge was for him to be able to shift at the rate that he googled.. Everyone says, "well a good driver......." THERE ARE VERY FEW DRIVERS THAT ARE ACTUALLY GOOD.... It seems like he claims to be one going by his comments... honestly i could care less...but if he shows up maybe he can show me something since he claims I'm not very smart....based on what I write on this forum..

lastly... Im not telling someone to spend $2000 on mods. To each his own. But thats how much I spent on that car that I had and the performance increased greatly.... It was a daily driver.I wanted to make that car more powerful, but imo wasn't worth it for the power it would have returned. I sold that car and put it towards better things.

BTW how many of you have driven a 6MT and a 6AT? not very many people. speculation and what really happens is 2 diff things. I rest my case.

and to address your earlier post 8MANIAC, i never really moved from a "slush box". Ive been driving manual cars before I had a drivers license. I've had multiple powerful cars while having the rx8, before the rx8, and now, it was just a daily driver.

I have. I drove dozens of RX-8s, all equipment levels, did extensive research on this site and others, before I decided on the car I bought. One of the best car purchases ever....

I haven't personally driven a 6AT, but if you're comparing stock vs stock, it's not unreasonable to form opinions or conclusions based off of what type of performance the reviews are reporting. That's far from speculation as it's real world testing and from multiple drivers and conditions. If you compare the different results, they're usually fairly consistent and enough to give you a somewhat accurate idea of what can be expected. If I drove a 6MT and a 6AT back to back, I have no doubt I could tell the difference. Especially from a stop.

To bring up an entirely different point... I personally find AT to be boring, even in a car that performs well. I'd probably prefer a car that performs a little worse in MT than a car that performs a little better in AT.

agreed, I find no fun in driving my gf's rx8, its just a DD to me, the majority of the cars I've owned were MT. I know it sounds stupid but it feels funner driving MT. I've had a MT beater escort and I made the few miserable weeks in that thing fun cause it was stick lol
