40th ANNIVS - Sound off

Curious as to how many 40th anniv 8s are out there and where? Anybody done anything to modify? Any comments?

I absolutely LOVE mine.

I own one, in the Chattanooga, TN area. Only mods that I have done are the RE super dolphin tail exhaust, AutoExe f/r strut bars and the AutoExe member brace set.

I happen to love mine also.

This must be a lame duck year for the 8 with the refreshed one coming for '09. In this whole state, I don't think there is any dealer that has more than one on the lot. I've only seen 1 40th on a lot and it is marked almost $3500 under MSRP. If you want a 2008 8, you have to order it or have them find one for you. They must know they will have a hard time selling them. '09s should be here this summer, right?

The 40th anni would be tasty if the 09's weren't just around the corner. Good to see that some people are buying them, though, as I love the badges around the car.

Damn, I have always wanted to see that Super Dolhin in real life. I love the interior in person, it looks so much better than in pictures. I want the wheels too. How much for them? :D

Did the member brace set make that much difference for street driving?

90% of my daily driving is on very twisty back roads and I can definatly tell a difference. I also am hoping to get some track time out of the car too so that was another factor in getting the set.

I didn't buy one but I love the color and the wheels. (I needed the extra head room of a sport model.)

Young parts guy (with an RX-7 told me the wheels are insanely expensive. I won't even quote the number 'cause it's unbelievable. (OK, OK, he actually said they're $4k per wheel!)

Yeah I did the install myself. I have a friend that has a shop with a lift, so he let me have some lift time and that make the whole process go alot quicker. Its a very straight forward install.

years from now the 40th anv 2008 model will be worth more money then the 2009 reg models.I like my 40th model, except for the ride.It must be the bilstein suspension that makes for a stiffer ride then the other models.I plan on keeping this for a long time.bought from bill britt mazda in fredricksburg virginia. great dealer

hey look the nostradamus of used car prices. Don't go getting ahead of yourself now.

I'm from Stafford VA, and I bought my PB 07 from Brown's Fairfax. In regards to the actual 40th anniverasy badges themselves...they look a bit "tacked on". I think just one badge in the rear either over or under the RX-8 badge on the trunk would have looked nice.

I don't own a 40th.. but IMHO I think it's really nice! The interior color is unique and I love anything different. I plan on getting one for my lil' sister... As for the '09's, I'm not too thrilled about them.. It seems you need to mod the exterior some in order for it to turn my head... Maybe I'm being bias, but to me the Original body is sexy (just STOCK)!

^I don't normally like yellow side markers, but on your car I do. The dab of yellow on a grey background kinda reminds me of a fighter plane…

I know it's a matter of personal taste, but frankly, given the styling of the '09, I would take the '08 in a second.
