From 350z to RX8

I just traded in my red 350z to a brand spanking new Gray RX8 GT . I'm happy with my decision but i must agree that my Z is one fast car but my new RX is a more complete car . I just said goobye to my friends at 350zmotoring.com and just signed in tonight on this forum and i must say that this one big community of 8's gear heads.

Heh, I need a link to your post on the Z forum... The people here are going to just love that you traded in a Z for the RX-8.

Oh, and welcome. :)

GulfCoast 07-11-2006 10:56 PM

Congratulations on your purchase. I'm a new 8 owner, too, and have been very pleased with the car so far. It's very well-rounded: good power, great handling, comfortable, sophisticated, even practical for a sports car. You should love it.

You traded in a great car, too, but I think you'll find the 8 a lot more liveable on a day-to-day basis. And a LOT more comfortable.

NgoRX8 07-11-2006 11:00 PM

i wanna see that thread too. :)

welcome to the 8 forum. hope you enjoy the ride.

rotor_head 07-11-2006 11:06 PM

350z has a more macho feel due to its bull frog stance and deep sounding exhaust note, but it has a clanky shifter, unrefined ride, too simple looking interior no sunroof as an option, ride is too noisy even if you replace the tires, no back seat and the most i hate about my Z now is THERES TOO MANY Z ON THE ROAD NOW !!!! too many that it will be just like a honda civic that you see in every corner of the roads.

kartweb 07-11-2006 11:06 PM

One of the guys where I work bought a new Z about 2 days after I got the RX8. He prefers his Z over the 8 in part for the power and ear candy it makes at 5000+ RPM.

We get about the same fuel mileage, although I do a bit more highway then he does. The one thing he really doesn't like about the Z is the tiny cargo area. He and his wife are going to Colorado next week in his wife's Accord as her suitcase won't fit in the Z.

Persoanlly I see the Z as a Sports Car and the RX8 as a Touring Car. They both have their strengths and weaknesses, so it depends on one's lifestyle and needs.

rotor_head 07-11-2006 11:10 PM

I can say the the gas mileage on the z and 8 is almost the same, this is just my initial obsrervation coz i'm only getting 18mpg on mix driving.

LionZoo 07-11-2006 11:11 PM

Congratulations, I think it'll be an interesting transition from a Z to a RX-8.

Skiptomylue 07-11-2006 11:46 PM

well.. the nissan 350z was designed in california i believe.. so its meant to be muscle car.... except it has a french engine... lol Japenees name, Designed in the states.. and has a French engine... welcome!@

CosmosMpower 07-11-2006 11:50 PM

Z is a much faster straight line car, 8 is a better handling car with backseats

Rinkadink 07-12-2006 12:23 AM

Ike just likes maintaining the size of his e-wang on RX-8 forums by putting others down or dishing out insults.

I mainly just like putting you down. Before you joined the forums my being here felt empty and meaningless. Thanks for giving me hope and purpose!

Ike doesn't post any "stupid" questions about the RX-8 because he doesn't have one.

It's mainly because if I want to know something about the RX-8 I search until I find it.

thanks for the list of my posts.

I search first before I post almost all the time. If I don't find enough information to thoroughly satisfy my question during the search and make a post.

You seem to forget that a good search depends on the right keywords. Sometimes the keywords I have in mind for my question may not match up and therefore I do not get the info I need.

Capiche?

try google.... it links you right back here.... capiche.. yea your from jersey.... whatever...

Rinkadink 07-12-2006 01:26 AM

If you've ever taken any college-level research class you'd know already that google isn't the best place to find specific information. What would be the point of having google link back to rx8forums.com when my keywords were not working there in the first place. Yes I've used it, and I personally think google sucks for this kind of info.

Comprende?

swoope 07-12-2006 01:34 AM

really,
well it would be better than how you are doing it now... did you try it...

i thought if you tried google you might have a chance... btw... you have no info at all.... where are you... how long have you had a car... what year is it...

how is it you have not been able to get it to a dealer to fix all these problems... how is it that you get answere from more people with about an 9 post count.... and yes i have that stuff down...

buy a vowel vana...

beers

Rinkadink 07-12-2006 01:37 AM

I'll put some of my info into my account. Yes I really have tried google. For most of those post listed above I did a forum search and a google search before I posted. My keywords must have been wrong.

whats this? "woo hoo! someone that owned 350z sold it for an 8! yay! zOMG! LAWLZ!" .... theres nothing to be excited about unless you think the 350z is that much better than the rx8.

ms292399 07-12-2006 06:52 AM

wow, this has been an intresting wed morning read, doesn't anyone sleep around here?

Congrats on the new purchase, your gonna love it.

Huey52 07-12-2006 07:16 AM

The RX-8, as you now know, is all about balance. Some areas are outstanding (e.g. cornering), but all are very good. My buddie's 'Vette with its 400+ HP can of course blow the doors off it, but my '8 is simply more fun to drive all around.

Welcome!

Given how badly this thread has been jacked, I was thinking more along the lines of a large e-vagina.

Anyway, good call with going for the RX-8. I came very close to the 350Z too.

Smileynh 07-12-2006 07:44 AM

No it's E-GO. Much like the real thing but dorkier.

zenmoused 07-12-2006 08:11 AM

Congrats on the purchase dude! I've driven the Z a few times, and I must say it's quite different from the 8. But once you get used to the unique sound of the engine/exhaust, and once you put some tranny fluid and a short shifter in, you'll never want to go back.
