Congrats!! Be ready for your old 350Z brothers to come hunt you down on the highways and the at stop lights...
Did you go out of your way to mess with RX8's when you had your 350z? I gotta know!

No plans to upgrade the car till the warranty is over. I don't know much about rotary engines and I don't need to go messing it up. This also allows me some time to research the parts I want to add. Its only a year or so till it's up. If anyone knows and wants to drop a line on a decent after market site let me know. If not Ill find it as a peruse the boards. Thanks again for all the warm welcome.

I'm pretty new here as well and yes I know what you mean about feeling like the car is a part of you. It's truly a wonderful feeling.
I already have a 350z owner talking **** to me about my car. I mean yeah the z is a great car and it may be faster than the 8 in a straight line, but it is only a 2 seater and not to mention much heavier.
Anyone who wants to talk **** about the 8 should hop into one and hit 9 grand in first gear

Let me first say this I my first post and hopefully not my last. You have a great community here. So i went from a 300z to a 350z and now I'm in a Rx-8 and i don't think I'm ever going back. The 350z is a great car, but with the 8 you just feel like its apart of you while your driving it. I wouldn't even be able to describe it to someone. I bought a used 05 RX-8 GT and I don't regret it one bit. I just wanted to say hello to the community, love the boards here. Good luck and have fun all.

I actually wasnt looking for the RX-8 I was looking at a Ford GT 500 and there was a used Rx-8 on the lot so i took it for a spin and from that point i was looking for an Rx-8 and nothing else. My Girlfriend was saying i was being stubborn but i knew what i wanted.

thats what I test drove (except just the GT convertible model, 500 wasnt out yet) the same day I tested the 8. this was in 04 when the 8 first came out.. after that I vouched that I would get one as soon as I graduated college.. took me a year to get there, but I have her, and im glad.

Welcome to the club! I'm glad you feel the same way about the 350Z. After test driving the 8 the Z just seemed.. disconnected. Really, there's just no explaining it to some people.

Yeah i have a few buddy's who want to race, but i tell them sure ill race you down a wind-y (IE: Curvy. I hate that word) country road and wait for you at the end. That shuts them up pretty fast.

Congradulation! The Rx-8 is a great Sports car especially its interior, rear seats, smooth shifting, handling and steering. It is fun to drive and a cute car, though the Rx-8 doesn't look like anything else on the road, I like the Zs near Porsche look. Some think one or the other is fugly or ugly but I can't see if I could I'd have both.
Good luck with your 8.
How good of a deal did you get for your 350z? or did you sell the 350z and buy the RX-8 cash. The 350z does carry a higher trade in value. You are lucky in that you have indept experience in both of these fine Sports cars.
Good luck with your 8.

and that has been what the professional magazine reviewers have been saying. The Z is a wonderful sports car but the rx8 is just better overall. However there are far too many people getting hung-up on paper racing than actual driving.

Actually I have had this very conversation and mine went a little different.
wife: "You love that damn car more than me!"
me: "Honey, that is because it treats me better then you do!"
Wife storms off, leaving me with more quality time with the car.

congrats on the purchase bro. take a look at the Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) and make sure shes all up to date, maintain the oil level (it will drop a quart every 1000 miles or so because of the design of the engine), and most of all, have fun with her, she likes that ;-) again welcome to the club!
