2dr/4dr - insurance
2dr/4dr - insurance
So is a rx8 coded as a 2dr or 4dr for insurance purposes. Seems I have read on this site somewhere that it is listed as a 4dr thus insurance cost would be lower then a 2 door yet my credit union says it is a 2 door. And just whom/what determines how a vechicle is code so far as insurance goes anyway?
thanks
thanks
I costs me $75 a month for an 04' 6s and with the new shinka MT added on it is $153 for two drivers. I havent gotten the cards for it yet but based on the amount it went up I am thinking 4dr sedan.
4dr, here in KY with State Farm. State has it registered as a 1.3L 4 cylinder... Their software didn't have the option to say anything less than 4 cylinders... Not sure what a Geo Metro would do, either.
I pay about $80 a month insurance for the car, full coverage.

Rhode Island registers it as a 1 cylinder 4-door. I spent ~45 minutes at the counter at the DMV while they figured out what to put for cylinders, since it is a >0 required field.

So even the usage tax is ~40% of my wife's Mazda5
Well, to be fair, my Protege5 was ~$90 a month, only about a $20 per month increase for the 8. "Sporty", and "costs more to repair" increases the rate, "safer", and "harder to steal" reduces the rate. It was interesting to note how my comprehensive and injury portion costs went down, and my collision went up, going from the P5 to the 8.
You win some, you lose some, in the end, you are probably fairly even.

Mine's listed as a 4. Funny thing is, when I was looking at a 350z before I got my 8, the insurance for that 2 door was only going to be $100 more a year that I pay for my 8 and that was way less than I expected.
