And counting.....that is me being without my RX-8 while it is in the shop for the first 2.5 months of ownership. Culprit-Non functionin A/C that the dealer and Mazda are at a standstill on how to fix it. Bad evaporator valve under dash. While the part was in the system at my dealer, three other dealers across the country called looking for same part. The car has been sitting there since the 30th of August. Symptoms-Warm air coming out left vents cold air coming out right vents-can't get the car comfortable on a hot day. My dealer called a Mazda rep on how to procede. New car/lemon/get me out of the lease? At this stage I have been very cooperative and understanding. State law states that out of service for 30 days in first 12 months of ownership car is determined a lemon. Every day that goes by gets me closer to that solution.

Hell Yeah. Get ready for that possible 31st day, when you can claim the car a lemon and receive a brand new one. Whatever you do, don't mention it to them, because they'll do whatever it takes to get your car back to you on the 30th day. I'm sure they are aware of the law, but if they don't have the part, there's nothing they can really do about it. You'd probably be better off with another rx8.
