is Mazda making the RX8 for 2012?

just curious. I have been toying with the idea of getting an RX8.... I almost bought one a few years ago, but bought something else... that other car is now gone and I'm itching for something fun.

I test drove quite a few RX8s and thought they were one of the most fun cars I'd ever driven.... wondering if there will be new ones continuing to come, or if the use market is the only source at this point.

Like SNTP said, not in the US, but you can definately find a nice 2010 R3 for a good price

 

Yeah, I wouldn't go brand new, anyways.

Series 2 (2009- up)
Check around for differences in models as well to best suit your needs.

2011 is the year that production of the RX8 will cease. there are expectations and speculations of a next gen RX series to be released in 2013-2014.

 

So sad, but NO MORE!

 

i heard the 2012 rx8 may have the new 1.6.

There is no way they can come out with a new Rx-8 that gets 16/22 mpg without having at least 50 more hp. That article didn't really say anything.

Don't mess around, get yourself an RX! The power and responses are just excellent as far as I'm concerned (and obviously so many other on this site!), but you may feel that you need more, the test drives should tell you what you need to know. A great quote about the car is "it turns ANY little chore (groceries, post office, work etc) into a pleasure!" so true. cheers.

 

2012 Spirit R in Japan. pre order and ship while you can! leave it sitting in your garage until the 10yr mark passes and allows you to drive RHD!

 

Iv never heard of any 10 year rule is that true? Where did you hear that?

 

There might be a few 2011 models around. I'm sure dealers are more than ready to get rid of those as the end of the year approaches. I would go for one and be super aggressive when negotiating the price

 

Where is this? America is 25 years before you can drive them on the streets, otherwise you can convert it to be obd2 and have all the emissions garbage. Or you can use it as a track car only and not register/license it.
